No news is good news? No mention of Haggerty's injury. He was really struggling to get off the ice...went into the locker-room & never returned to the bench. Anyone stick around for the, "skate with the Engineers"? Was he seen then? Not that he would be skating then but maybe in the stands. Babo did throw the puck back onto the ice. Said she did what Moms always do at their kid's games.....but now she knows. Sorry Babo, something came up & I couldn't make it to the Rec. Rm.

I sit in Section 7 and a few minutes after he came off the ice he walked up the ramp under his own power and didnt seem to be limping. Guess its wait and see.

Haggerty was not out skating for the post-game "skate with the Engineers." For much of it, he was chatting with (I think) an Acadia player in front of section 13, and then he joined the team when they grouped together for some group photos, and was the last to head back into the dressing room - he chatted with Appert for a bit before going in.

The NCHC has released a statement saying it will launch as an 8 team conference beginning in 2013-14. I guess that means its pretty much a done deal that Notre Dame will be going to Hockey East.

I guess they got tired of waiting around for ND to make up their mind. Good for them. I still think ND might be looking to go Big 10, but HE certainly seems more likely than a few days ago.

Still nothing up on RPI-TV's website... wonder if they're having a little trouble with the editing...

QU is up 3-0 over Acadia after 12 minutes of gameplay.

Looks like there is not much to be learned from a win over Acadia.

Picked this up on facebook regarding the RPI game in South Bend on Oct. 21st. In case anyone is making the trip out, tickets go on sale this Thursday.

It's official...1st Notre Dame hockey game in the Compton Family Center is on 10/21 vs RPI. Game will be ticketed as general admission seating. BUT...season ticket holders will get card in mail to give they early entry to pick their seats for that game. Tickets remain and go on sale THUR at 11am.

Greg Burgdoefer was upended pretty hard during the first period and I don't think he played again.

Does anyone know if he was hurt?

He was in the stands during the 3rd period and had his left arm in a sling. He was laughing and seemed in generally good spirits though. So, who knows?

I believe I saw him in a sling during the 3rd period. It sure would be nice if we had a beat reporter, someone who might ask these type of questions.

He was seen but he didn't skate and didn't look terribly happy about it. Did see him elsewhere as well, so whatever it is it may not be long-term, of course I'm not a doctor.

Acadia was not a good team, unfortunately. Not much of a test at all. Their special teams were god-awful and their players, while bigger and older, were much slower. The freshmen especially skated circles around them. I was impressed by the play of every freshman on the ice, but it will be another thing to repeat that kind of play against a better team and while Mankato isn't picked to be among the best in the WCHA this year, they're still probably going to offer much better resistance than the Axemen did.

No one really stuck out in my mind as playing poorly for RPI, although Cullen seemed to be trying to force the issue occasionally. Bailen picked up right where he left off. Diebold reminds me a lot of York in his style. Curadi and Leonard definitely add very useful size, and Leonard was bigger than I expected. Acadia looked like they were scared of Curadi, or at the very least they didn't seem to want to work with the puck around him.

Favorite play of the night was Rabbani bringing the puck through the neutral zone 1-on-1 as an Acadia penalty was expiring. The guy came out of the box and went directly after Rabbani, who promptly pushed the puck ahead slightly and leveled the guy.

The final was 5-2 with the shots just 27-25 in QU's favor although QU did have a 5-0 lead.

He separated his shoulder and will need an x-ray. He also had stitches in his tongue to close up a cut gotten on an earlier shift.
