As others have said, he does have his entertainment value; however I am a bit conflicted in participating beyond a certain point, as it reminds me a little of the people who slow down on the highway to gawk at an automobile accident....on the other hand, it is all self-inflicted wounds, sort of like the scene in Fight Club where Ed Norton beats himself up.....pretty soon he may start bleating like Porky Pig, which I would find entertaining without being conflicted about it!

They finished 5th and 6th.
backed into ncaa and lost 6-0 first game
worst ECAC tournament relative results over the previous immediate 2 seasons.
lost to last placed team in first rd last season
lost to next to last placed team in first round year before

"A few talking points"
What else is there outside the previous 2 seasons success and or failures?

If that is on the rise, rise on.

Try harder, cupcake.....we're getting bored with that argument.

I agree with tb. I believe that PK is best talent on blue line for the Cherry and White since Hammond. This kid is going to be good. Protoypical pro-Dman.
I 'd make the small exception that Brian Pothier was a smooth, proto -puck moving D-man who made the show...and stuck (injuries aside) Excellent first pass out of the zone. He didn't have the pedigree (NHL draft) but had all the tools and brains. He's the only non-drafted RPI player that I've predicted (correctly) would make the show.

Nothing but positives however about RPI. That's good to hear.

I suspect that BU will be happy to have another private school in the league with NU the only other one. (Yes, Union would fit that desciption also.) There will be 5 state schools and 4 church schools.

You didn't predict Oates would make it?

Thanks, and to you too if you are Jewish. Also to DrD.

Only for special occassions where we get to dress up.;) Best wishes and a happy new year to all of those on the board whether they observe or not!

Number of ECAC tournament games over the last two years:
RPI: 6
Clarkson: 5
Princeton: 5

Awaiting your next failed point...

worst relative performance. losing to dead last and next to last back to back years, no one else had a worse showing, no one.
Even brown and colgate, the 2 mentioned above made it farther in past 2 years

no one had a worse showing

and i am real tired waiting for your first argument. what stats, results etc do you stand behind?

long wait, maybe 25+ more eyars and still o goals and wins

I only do it because they always come back and add zero stats etc and say it is not true. if not, show results that prove otherwise, not always, "on the rise" it is not. it is still a mid pack team who have dramatically underperformed in tournament, worse than any other program in ECAC.

But since you asked so nicely, I will drop it and move on

Thanks Wicked...........you are 100% correct. Of course, I don't think they were following RPI at the time and might not know who Potsy was!

What statistic could I possibly show to you that would make you change your incorrect opinion? People have presented you with numerous facts and figures to refute your point. You choose to ignore them, because this argument is not about whether RPI is on the rise or not...it's about you pushing buttons and being a troll. I have no interest in debating hockey or RPI with you. If you want to see those facts and figures I mentioned...clear your head, then go back and read them. All I'm willing to offer you is the knowledge that you are the worst poster on these boards, and no one anywhere likes you.

RPI records over the last four seasons:

2007-2008 season: 11-23-4 (.342)
2008-2009 season: 10-27-2 (.282)
2009-2010 season: 18-17-4 (.513)
2010-2011 season: 20-13-5 (.592)

20>18>10
[/logic]

EDIT: Oh boy, two others beat me to this...

As far as I know, these are our win percentages for the past three seasons.
08-09: .282
09-10: .512
10-11: .592

How is that not an improvement over time?

EDIT: JCrawford, thanks for beating me to it :)

RPI's winning percentages the past 3 seasons:

2008-2009: .282 (10-27-2)
2009-2010: .512 (18-17-4)
2010-2011: .592 (20-13-5)

Yep, increasing from year to year is certainly going backwards...
