Re: RPI 2011-12 Part III: Our Goal is to be Offensive

I think that it is quite good except that FD08 raised a good point about the last time we put the name of a player in the title.

January 22nd started "We Still Have Allen York. Sorry, Everyone!" and we went 5-3-1 (or 4-3-1 depending on when you count from the start or final result determination of the game) during the existence of the thread.
February 22nd started "The 'Chase' to AC & Beyond" and we went 1-4-1.
The rest of the season was 14-6-3 (or 15-6-3, once again based upon the previous dependency).

During the time this year in a thread FlagDUDE08 started (10-10-11 thru 11-9-11), we went 0-7-0.

I realize some are superstitious and some are not (and some laugh at those who are), but those are the facts, and there is no direct correlation between thread titles and team success. To those that are superstitious, I will NOT start the next thread.

I would like Burgie 12 to check these stats.

I think that Ruth Bader Ginsburg has him beat too. :p

I can't remember where, but there was a study done by some magazine about Supreme Court justices and their sense of humor. Clarence Thomas scored the lowest. I can't remember who had the highest, I think it was Alito.

I thought the issue with named threads was that York got hurt in the middle of his thread and then Chase had a slump / got sick during his.

I will refrain.

Not to mention we then lost York at the end of the season. If someone's already playing poorly, maybe using their name would have the opposite effect and spark an improvement?

Obviously, this doesn't actually affect players.

Not sure if the player about to be referenced is playing "poorly" yet after a game misconduct some adjustments might be in order....someone more clever than I make a pun linking Go Red and red hair and refocusing like a laser on the task at hand....
