Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

Well you weren't calling that game, so I'd say you're in the clear.

Of course if WRPI gets any letters from grumpy Canadian online listeners, you might be boned.

Which reminds me of having to suffer through WRPI's broadcast for the Cornell game which sounded remarkably similar to a CORNELL BROADCAST. I learned SO many things that I couldn't care less about ..such has how the enthusiastic Big Red fans sing R&R Part II or being repeatedly reminded about how dominant Cornell has been vs. RPI at Lynah -- as if we needed to be reminded.

Meanwhile, Pirri is sitting in the penalty box ...not that the listeners learned this from the broadcast, but rather from overhearing the PA announcer in the background. Uggh.

Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

They've probably got a decent shot at that. Not sure Cornwall has the "beef" for a deep run...but I hope to be mistaken about that. :D

Cornell only had the third best record in the CJHL, so it's unlikely that they will even win their league's playoffs, but it is possible, especially if JL gets on a roll. :D

They do have "The Beef", but I assume that is what you meant.

I'd be impressed if they sang Rock & Roll Part ONE. :D

And how if something of Cornell's other than a skate touches the ice they immediately want the player thrown out?

Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

Wasn't able to get my schedule to line up this time. Maybe I'll make a playoff game. Do you catch many games?

I have seen all the CJHL teams play over the last few years. Saw Bergin play a lot when he was in Smiths Falls and have seen Laliberté play for Hawkesbury, Pembroke, and Cornwall. Watched Leboeuf play in RBC when Cornwall hosted it and have seen Cornwall a few times this year. By the sounds of this thread, RPI likes the Cornwall players.

On Monday, the Penticton Vees defeated the Merritt Centennials 6-1. Luke Curadi had a fighting major penalty along with an instigator minor penalty and a game misconduct. Penticton leads the best-of-seven playoff series 3-0. http://www.bchl.ca/leagues/hockey_boxScores.cfm?clientID=1413&leagueID=2393&gameID=802974

Curadi's line is now 3-0-0-0-11.
His total is 61-7-10-17-109.
BOOYAH ! The Big Red One laying down the law vs. a desperate Merritt squad ! Gotta like it! Luke's bout, later in the 3rd period, came after a Vees forward hammered a Cents player in a fight a bit earlier in the period. I happily noticed that Luke was one of six Dmen dressed for the Vees (D - MacLoed was a healthy scratch)...with the Vees coach favoring 12 forwards...ice time in BCHL playoffs is a real good sign in his development, IMO.

A fighting hat trick! He is just going to fit in superbly with old time RPI hatchet hockey. I can hardly wait.:D

Merritt's PP is 0-15 in the series. More important for the Vees, their offensive studs Manderson and Bennett seem to be getting healthy and back to their old, high scoring ways.

It will be intersting to see the video of this game when it is posted. The summary is up but not a video yet.
