Did anyone else notice the banner ad running on USCHO featuring "Fontbonne Univeristy" in St. Louis ? WOW !! :D

Wicked: We should have sent RB up there to tutor him for the Math sections. ;)

I was thinking of volunteering to take them for him. :D (Of course, I'd hate to think how poorly I would do on the new writing part.)

Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

Cant remember if this was posted before about Higgs committing to RPI but its now listed in the free archives on ushr.

5’10”, 180 lb. LC Brock Higgs of the Kingston Voyageurs (OJAHL) has committed to RPI for the fall of ’10.

Higgs, who had originally committed to Canisius before decommitting last spring, was a member of the Canada East squad that played over the last week in the World Junior A Challenge in Summerisde, PEI. He had an 0-3-3 line there.

Higgs, a fifth round pick of the Kingston Frontenacs (OHL) in 2008, saw his stock shoot up late last season when the Voyageurs made a run for the Royal Bank Cup, and Higgs was on fire throughout the postseason, scoring 22 goals in 25 playoff games. He also added 13 assists.

Higgs, a native of Kingston, Ont., is a 5/4/92 birthdate. He has speed, good hockey sense, and is very competitive. He has good hands, too, but many of his goals come from hard work, from going to the dirty areas to score.

Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

I don't recall if the USHR piece was quoted, but the previous commitment to Canisius was originally mentioned by GLM http://board.uscho.com/showpost.php?p=4453919&postcount=478.
Thats what I thought, ive been digging around trying to find any info that might link RPI with one of the uncommitted U-17's or any of the NY players on the NTDP camp list. Theres 4 players on the camp roster from NY Blujus(Buffalo), Izyk(Syracuse), Lane(Rochester) and Moore(Arcade). I also thought RPI might have interest in the two CT kids on the U-17's Paliotta and/or Haggerty. Couldnt find anything however.

Why would we be limited to NDTP'ers from NY or CT?

Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

On Wednesday, the Cornwall Colts defeated the Pembroke Lumber Kings 2-1. Jacob Laliberté had an assist. Guy Leboeuf had no points or penalties. The best-of-seven playoff series is tied 1-1. http://cjhlsite.stats.pointstreak.com/boxscore.html?gameid=1245272

Laliberté's line is now 8-2-3-5-2.
His total is 58-64-51-115-36.
Leboeuf's line is now 8-0-5-5-8
His total is 70-10-24-34-74

JA had a short-handed assist. He didn't have one all season. I guess his shadow doesn't follow him during penalty kills.

Simple equation-JL has to get on the scoreboard for Cornwall to win.

He isn't being shadowed in this series. Pembroke isn't trying to match lines. Cornwall is matching a D pairing against Cross/Clark/Toisunion.

Heres twelve new photos of JL and Leboeuf that I took at tonights game. Again not the best quality.

A couple little things from the player profile section in the game program, JL's favorite NHL player happens to be Martin St.Louis and Leboeuf's nickname is The Beef. :D

Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

IMO they are the more likely recruits, like JD'A. We aren't limited to them of course.
Apparently RPI is in the running for NTDP camp participant G-Dalton Izyk from the Syracuse Nationals.

From Collegehockey247:
"I've talked to a few schools, visited RPI and New Hampshire and Michigan, but I'd still really like to see Denver and Miami too,"
I bet Izyk visited the same time that Boo Nieves did.

Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

That's pretty lofty company for RPI to be in the mix with. That's very good to see.
