Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

Bob McKenzie is reporting on Twitter that Pirri is indeed signing a professional contract.

Oh goodie... well, if opportunity arises, I guess you have to take it. I'm sure we will manage this year, though.

Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

Was sworn to secrecy on this one but discussed with Ken & Tom Boggie for the last 8 or 9 days. Was tough reading this thread for the last week but have to say IMO he could of used another year at RPI before he made the jump. Be that as it may, I wish him the best of luck and hope this caliber of player continues to make their way to Troy. Some will stay longer than one year so as fans don't just bury your heads in the sand because of this past month. Growing pains!!

Absolutely true! But I'm sure you will allow me a Sam Adams or two and DrD a vodka gimlet or nine tonight. :)

" I doubt "he's got a great finishing touch" is going to fly with admissions to sneak him into the Class of 2014."

This is great stuff. Thanks to WaP for a good laugh on a day like today.

Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

If true-from my standpoint he has probably made a mistake. I thought perhaps JD'A was leaving a year early but in Pirri's case I am even more convinced that he could have benefitted from another NCAA year.:(
Huge mistake. BP is not ready. IMO he needs at least one more year and maybe two. Hope he gets a good amount of money because it might be the only decent contract he ever sees.

Believe me, I drank my share when I found out. I'm over it but I dont blame you a bit.

Just had to have one gimlet after the news of the evening. We certainly have lost a lot of talent after their freshman year. Somehow though, I think we are going to see a team with some new faces very hungry to make their mark.

Hungry yes, but also possibly a one line team on offense. Rogic and Higgs (the Rocket and the Boson!) just went from two kids with potential to two that we need to help out right now. On the other hand, perhaps this is the year we start seeing some scoring punch from the blue line.

Anyone heard that York has a Christening to attend this weekend?:p

Don't start limiting this team already. There is plenty of talent and there are players that will step up. Cullen and Helfrich are two that I put money on and there will be others!

His Ego spoke louder than the voice of reason. Youth!

Obviously my money is on Malchuk, but also Marty O'Grady. Yes, he lost his primary linemate, but he is very consistent and will do great things for us. On a side note, I would not be surprised to see Marty receive at least an A in the future.

Everything is fine, nothing to worry about or talk about..."he's at a wedding". I think I'll have that printed on a t shirt and where it to the RW game.

Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

This is, it goes without saying, a big win for Union.

Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

I could see D`amigo going his game was outstanding in both ends of the rink and never took a shift off. BP,on the other hand would show flashes of greatness in the offensive zone on one shift then on the next one get lazy or careless with the puck and give the opponent a grade A chance because of it. IMO His defensive game was below average and he always looked winded when it was time to get back and help out in the defensive zone. It seems to me another year or two in college to work on the weaknesses would have been just the ticket. I think he made a big mistake leaving so soon. I wonder how many of the one and done scenarios the admin will tolerate before they take action?:(

Polacek's season just got a lot harder...but I know he'll relish the challenge

If this years squad waits until late february to start sticking up for one another like last years team did it will very likely be a tough final year for chase.

The sun's going to rise tomorrow and we're going to have RPI hockey, whether Brandon or anyone else that wants to go are here or not.
