Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

Should we call the next thread Part VI or call it a Preseason thread? Thread title suggestions also are invited.

RPI 2010 Off-season thread VI: Everything is Going to be Alright

No holding of someone necessary. :D

Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

That was published 8/16...a week ago... Weaver (and Schott for that matter) by now hopefully realize that the wedding story was a ruse. I'd think the obvious question to Beattie and Appert is: "Are you sticking with the wedding story?" or more succinctly: " Where is he really?"

I don't think Seth would have said anything to Ed if BP was not coming back. Seth is a man of integrity and character. He cares too much about the fan base to play the subterfuge game with us. IMHO.

Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

I was speaking about team chemistry and if there is a player that doesn't want to be there it affects the team and team play so it is just better that they move on.

Got it...

Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

I believe the upgrade of the scoreboard coincides with an upgrade of the sound system/speakers; both should/would be installed together, but likely not one without the other.
Maybe BP is having a sound system installed...:p

I agree with that, but unless it was Pirri's own wedding, there has to be an additional reason that he isn't around. I think that Elin Nordegren is bit too old for him. ;)

And whatever that is, it's none of your business.

The advent of the Internet has not rescinded the privacy of the student-athlete.

Indeed, it is none of my business, but the wedding story has appeared in print. SA could have said that it was personal matters, but he will be in Troy by the start of school.

So I guess that makes it OK to speculate on where he is and what he's doing now.

He is a STUDENT and does not have to be on campus until classes start on Monday. Some people apparently have lost sight of this in their focus on the athlete segment of "student-athlete."

I think it's perfectly ok to speculate on any of the topics that are discussed. I don't think it does BP any harm whatsoever...it comes with the territory (and frankly, I doubt he's fretting over what is said here to begin with...) After all, when we all know the whole story, we'll just move on to the next topic for speculation...no one is accusing him of breaking the law or anything...there are just questions being asked.

I said it before: SA doesn't seem upset or concerned and that's enough for me...but the fans on the thread are just itchy to have news about the players for whom they root.

I like the second one. Also, I am kissing up to you in the hopes you lift that fatwa on me ;)

I feel kind of the same about the BP situation as I do with the JL situation and even the JD'A situation. Sure I would love to have all 3 of them in Troy together for this year. And I think it is a mistake for any or all of them to not be there. But it is something I just can't worry about and will still be rooting for the fellows who are there as I have for 47 years.

Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

It probably wouldn't work out schedule-wise to put it up, given practices and installation time. However I do agree that it would be nice to have it up there ASAP. After all, the projector in front of Section 1 was a bit, well... primitive.

Harvard actually installed their video scoreboard mid season in Dec 2008. They then Christened it by getting blown off the ice by NoDak, 10-1. It can be done, it just requires creative scheduling.

To lose to North Dakota? No, that requires Jon Casey. :p

Bob McKenzie is reporting on Twitter that Pirri is indeed signing a professional contract.

If true-from my standpoint he has probably made a mistake. I thought perhaps JD'A was leaving a year early but in Pirri's case I am even more convinced that he could have benefitted from another NCAA year.:(
