Exactly correct. I have since upgraded to Lucid Lynx, and have removed British from my possible language settings in Firefox. However, "color" still gives me a spelling error. Oh well, it's hockey talk, so who cares. :)

I was at both games, and as hard it is to believe, we skated rings around them in both games.
There was never a point where I was worried in either game.
I was also at two of the Union games, and we were not the same team against the Dutchmen.:mad:

Two drastically different styles of hockey played by Yale and Union.

IMO, you can't make a meaningful argument about an "individual mistake" on a GWG, without noting that the mistake occurred while on the PK. The "mistake" began with the player who took the penalty in a tie game on the road.

PS: Currently, the sky is grey where I am sitting.:p

No doubt, but if we are to continue to improve, we have to find a way to play against the Union's of the world.
That's one for the coaches to ponder.
I am sure that they have been working on it all off season and will come up with the solution.

We have problems with the bigger teams (Brown) because the ECAC rewards the clutch and grab stuff. Give SA credit he's not giving into that stuff. Yale proved and we did to a lesser extent that you can be successful without playing trap crap. With that being said I am glad that Bruts is staying up front and we added a Higgs who will be screen presence in front of netminder. I think the "solution" that you speak of is having our guys willing to take the hard knocks in front and crash the net.

This is based upon 8 October for the start of next season.

But they do play a different variation of the trap and they certainly clutch and grab.

They also forecheck tenaciously instead of sitting back and waiting so it's not exactly boring.

You are right GLM. When one mentions the word "trap" as a forecheck, a sense of sitting back and looking to transition from defense to offense is created in one's mind. I think they only trap when their first forechecker cannot get in with support to create havock.

When their first forechecker does get in with support, they are extremely aggressive.

Saw both games in person. We skated circles around them for sure. It was the only two times I saw Yale play all year. After the first game at home, I went "Wow, this is a talented team, but we played really well and won". After the second, I said "Where did all their talent go?". We made a great team look less than mediocre on their home ice.

That may be true RC but I would greatly miss the once a month or so back and forth between you and Bothman or some of your other best friends.

You know Ralph... since you are a biker and all... Now that son of Babo is heading to Iowa maybe you should organize a RABRAI trip and see if she and Luke and some of the other players want to join you. It would be a great one week off-ice workout.

I suspect that I wouldn't be able to keep up with a 6'5" teenager. :)
