Re: RPI 2010 Off-Season Thread II -- We Can Rebuild Them. We Have the Technology!

I don't think we can assess the defense without mentioning that losing Kurulak so close to the start of this past season was a curveball for our blueliners...who I think handled it very well. It takes time for players and a new coach to form a connection. I think based on the great job Vines did with our PK this year, that our defense is in for better days ahead.

Before their stay at RPI is through, I think a lot of people will be talking about Quinn, Curadi and Koudys. In addition, Bailen will be an immediate eye opener for our opponents this fall, IMO.

agree 100%. Future looks good for the blueline

But next season SA needs a checking line.

I have no clue who is working hard between seasons but O'Grady looked so strong later in the year. I think he will be a lot of fun to watch next season

No problem

Thee are a lot of things, especially about what is going on currently in Troy, that others know better than I do.

What like players crashing into the firehouse on Peoples Ave?

Re: RPI 2010 Off-Season Thread II -- We Can Rebuild Them. We Have the Technology!

Please explain?? Unless this is something that happened many years ago.

He thinks he's being clever by referring to the incident that was essentially the final straw for Kevin Constantine at RPI, except that the firehouse in question is on 15th. But it's Beman, so... yeah.

Oh thanks I must have forgotten that we like to bring up stuff from many years ago that does not relate at all to whats going on in Troy right now. Besides only players from Boston College are allowed to run into public transportation/emergency service stations.

Today is 21 May 2010. There are 134 days until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 2 October for the start of next season.

FWIW, Constantine's career since then proves that some people do eventually mature. That indicates that there is hope for JL, although we can't afford to wait that long.

Actually, I think that O'Grady looked strong the entire year. Sure, he may not have had as many goals as Polacek, but he was consistent the entire year. Some times, he was also in the right place at the right time. Pirri made a very good choice to recommend him, and if he continues to fly under the radar as "Pirri's wingman", he'll be a force to be reckoned with. A lot of teams forgot about him, and he "stole" some games, especially the Michigan one.

More soap. :)

But will the 19-year-old return to the Cornwall lineup for one final year of junior A hockey?

That's unknown at this point, but Laliberte is expected to write his SAT exams next month, and the RPI Engineers (NCAA Division l) is one of the teams he could be playing for in 2010-2011.

Re: RPI 2010 Off-Season Thread II -- We Can Rebuild Them. We Have the Technology!

I don't see anything new there. Apparently the Standard Freeloader didn't get the message.

Isn't it new that he will only be taking the SAT's next month? It had been at least implied that he was taking them earlier this year. However it is possible that he did take them and will retake them.

What was the message? :)

Ralph, sometimes I read your posts and I get the image of a ditzy blonde...

Nice story on Luke Curadi letter of intent signing ceremony from the Milford Orange Bulletin. Great picture of Babo. I don't think anyone has posted this.

I like his enthusiasm about coming to Troy.
It is hard to believe that we got a defenseman of his size away from Cornell. :D
Maybe we can let him scrimmage with JL and knock some sense into the immature forward. :p

FYI...the B.R.O. is in Troy as we speak for some team/coach bonding...watched the team work out (not allowed by NCAA rules to participate) and will do some dining with SA and co...tomorrow is a clambake sponsored by an alumnus...BRO left town at "O-dark-thirty" all fired up!!! That is one happy future Engineer!:)

Will the fight last long enough for the echo of the bell in HFH to die down? :D

I'm surprised we also got him away from Cornell, especially with a nickname of "Big Red One"...
