Re: RPI 2010 Off-Season Thread II -- We Can Rebuild Them. We Have the Technology!

When Monty was hired by Dubuque, he stated in an early article that he intended to build from the D outward.

In the USHL Draft today, Dubuque picked up a Dman named Luuko, who won the prep Championship with the Gunnery this year. More mentorship potential

Plenty of depth at D for sure, did I miss as to who'll be minding the nets ?? Seems like he's got some nice forwards lined up in the futures draft....You gotta be able to score goals in the USHL, as you're not going to shut out many teams. Of course having JL as a 1st line center would be nice. :p

I say you should go...playing hurt wiil inspire the team ! Besides, it'll probably be a best ball event, so you could be your team's designated putter...and keep everyone loose on the fairways. :D
Yeah, I heard GLM putts from the rough. ;)

They're substantially more desperate than we are, I think. Their economy is based on LeBron James.

It was named after Moses Cleveland - he invented Cleveland.

Exactly!...Not to mention comic relief and commentary on wayward tee shots !:p

I don't think anyone needs that from me. Well, unless I'm drinking a bottle of bourbon throughout the day.

When I last had an MRI done on it a few years ago, I found out the muscles are a mess, the tendons are as well and the socket joint has a nice little groove carved out from how many times it has slipped out up to that point. It's come out a few more times since then.

Does not sound like a simple repair. From what you describe, posst op physical therapy will be mandatory and probably last for several months. In any case, whatever the doctor says as far as recovery time-double it for shoulders. They just are slow to recover.

Back then, I was told about six months recovery would be right. They even talked about doing the sort of program they give to pro baseball pitchers to help move things along. Let's put it this way, I've dislocated it probably north of 20 times now since 2004 when it first happened.

Sleeping is gonna suck, probably already does for you. I damaged my shoulder, never got the surgery. I am sure I will get it soon but I am putting off the the next step.
Should of worn the shoulder pads in lax.
I feel your the pain

Based upon our recruits, or his USHL draft selections?

In the past few years, RPI has had very defensive-minded coaching. The blue line is your foundation, and supports your main scorers. This isn't much of a shocker at all, seeing from whom Monty learned.

It is so hard to get someone that can finish. SA has done that better than anyone could expect. (Pirri and D'Amigo)
The blueline and a good checking line is lacking. It is a puzzel. That is why they have lost games with minutes left in the third.
Seth has recruited the hard part!!!!! Now if he puts the defensive part together they will kick ***. No doubt.

even palmface can understand this. sorry I thinks its palmwash, yeah thats it

See table. See FlagDUDE08's head. See each repeatedly converge in a swift and fluid motion.

Someone obviously didn't pay close attention to the games, or our recruiting, and then decided it'd be best to insult one of our posters. I now regret developing a constructive response.

It seems like he wants to stay Big Man on a small campus. Let Mommy and Daddy pat him on the back and tell him everything is going to be ok and that he is the best. Let his girlfriend still be able to walk around and say she is dating the "superstar" of the Cornwall Colts. Im so sick of this kid. I wished I had the talent he does at that age and the chance to go to a higher level. Ok Im done venting.

My major concern about JL is how would he fit in as a teammate. If he has maturity or attitude problems, would it rub off? On one hand he was Cornwall's captain last season which means he was respected, and on the other hand he took that trip to Florida last season.

Maybe he'll commit to Alabama-Huntsville.

Sometimes being the big fish in a small pond is a good thing, but fishcore is right in that it depends how far you would like to go. If it's merely a necessary evil to where you want to go, then be the big fish. In the rather cutthroat world of sports in trying to get to the highest level, you really have to get yourself to the bigger pond.

Coach sees the maturity issues, and that is why he will not be at RPI this coming up year.

Ralph with all due respect--If JL is demonstrating maturity and attitude problems(leaving for a trip to Florida while his team is at home playing)it is hard to imagine that he is respected. Unfortunately for some teams there are reasons coaches appoint players Captains and not all of them are because they have earned the leadership role and are respected. In my opinion giving a player that role/title when it is not earned or deserved just compounds problems for the player and the team. Obviously JL has talent-but IMO it takes more than that to succeed.

RB great points. I concur. I think we are in store for a big year next year and that adding a soap opera to the mix could be a recipe for diaster. Along these lines that next year might be special, the following quote is from SA in the email sent for golf tourney, "Our staff is extremely excited about upcoming hockey season and we are looking forward to pushing back towards an ECAC Championship." It's good, it's all good.
