Re: RPI 2010 Off-Season Thread II -- We Can Rebuild Them. We Have the Technology!

It is so hard to get someone that can finish. SA has done that better than anyone could expect. (Pirri and D'Amigo)
The blueline and a good checking line is lacking. It is a puzzel. That is why they have lost games with minutes left in the third.
Seth has recruited the hard part!!!!! Now if he puts the defensive part together they will kick ***. No doubt.

even palmface can understand this. sorry I thinks its palmwash, yeah thats it

I don't think we can assess the defense without mentioning that losing Kurulak so close to the start of this past season was a curveball for our blueliners...who I think handled it very well. It takes time for players and a new coach to form a connection. I think based on the great job Vines did with our PK this year, that our defense is in for better days ahead.

Before their stay at RPI is through, I think a lot of people will be talking about Quinn, Curadi and Koudys. In addition, Bailen will be an immediate eye opener for our opponents this fall, IMO.

Re: RPI 2010 Off-Season Thread II -- We Can Rebuild Them. We Have the Technology!

Ralph with all due respect--If JL is demonstrating maturity and attitude problems(leaving for a trip to Florida while his team is at home playing)it is hard to imagine that he is respected. Unfortunately for some teams there are reasons coaches appoint players Captains and not all of them are because they have earned the leadership role and are respected. In my opinion giving a player that role/title when it is not earned or deserved just compounds problems for the player and the team. Obviously JL has talent-but IMO it takes more than that to succeed.
I don't have any idea how the Colts choose captains (player vote or the coach), but it's possible that MacInnis made JL a captain to give him something to live up to. It wouldn't be the first time a coach did this, in the hope that the added expectations of wearing the "C" would help him. Who knows.

I am content to let SA handle the JL situation.
If he comes, it will be on Appert's terms, if he doesn't. good luck to him.
Who among our players/recruits are elligible for the NHL draft this year?
And do we have any predictions on who might actually be drafted?
I just thought we needed a new topic. JL is done

Anyone born from 1/1/90 to 9/15/92. I think that would be Laliberte, Quinn, Higgs, Curadi, Rogic, and Dolan. Koudys is too young. All the rest are too old.

Ur right. SA has most likely seen a lot of talented headcases in his day being at DU. he knows what he is doing. I was in the same place u were on JL but I think it was RC who talked me off the ledge and said that we should'nt burn a bridge w JL. He is just a kid and maybe him having the responsiblity of having the "C" on his sweater will help him mature. Also, might need him in the queue if Jerry and Pirri move on (God forbid!!!) after ECAC championship and automatic bid.

RB - Quick question. How big is Dolan? Thanks in advance. AD

5'11" 175 lb according to Chris Heisenberg.

Why do you always ask me instead of asking anyone who wants to answer?

Ralph, I think we ask you because you see, hear, and know all that is RPI hockey. ;) Not to mention, seeing as how you're on here practically 24/7 (given your post count and times of posting), he knows he'll get a quick response from you. :D

Aspy, don't count your chickens before they hatch when it comes to ECAC's. We have to get there first. I know there's high hopes, and I am optimistic about the situation, but we still must reach that point.

No problem

Thee are a lot of things, especially about what is going on currently in Troy, that others know better than I do.

This is very true, and is why we have many other sources, including current students, knowledgeable press corps, players' families, and much more.

Wasn't Curadi on someone's draft board, that question is not directed to you Ralph.
