Re: RPI 2010 Off-Season Thread II -- We Can Rebuild Them. We Have the Technology!

He thinks he's being clever by referring to the incident that was essentially the final straw for Kevin Constantine at RPI, except that the firehouse in question is on 15th. But it's Beman, so... yeah.

No facepalm or palmwash whatever the firehouse it is on Peoples Ave. If you are gonna bust on me please get it right. I know you think you are "all that" but sometimes you come off as such a vindictive little puss.
You never answered me when I asked about the D1 conference that the engineer football team was gonna play in. You know the secret deal only YOU know about. Please U R such a windbag!!

Oh but its Beman. Maybe it should be Pink Cloud......eh?

Before you insult a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you insult him, you'll be a mile away.

But really all I wanted to know before the latest RC/Beman squabble broke out was what you were talking about with players crashing into a firehouse. But RC filled me in on that.

I am sorry, what is wrong with his shoes?

Seriously.....

Beman, your answer is previously noted within this thread. I know this means you'd have to actually look back and read a bit, but I'm sure you can do it. This is a message board, not a vocal conversation. There's a history in text. Use it to your advantage instead of trying to find a way to screw up insulting one of our posters.

Remember the good ol' days when, on this thread, you'd find something that was somewhat constructive?

Today is 22 May 2010. There are 133 days (19 weeks) until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 2 October for the start of next season.

You are a all little RC follower, I understand. Headdesk that is stupid little thing, very sophomoric That is an insult... isn't it? I know you don't have the balls to be on the wrong side of pink cumulous. He may say something mean to you and your socks will be soaking wet.
If you look back RC goes after me because I critize SA, the way the team is playing, things the team does that I don't like.
I like the direction the team is going. I like a lot of things, but there are things I don't like. I will continue to express my opinion about things I like and don't like. RC will say that I am an idiot and that no one here likes me................ wah wah wah. Then I will attack him, go to confession on Saturday and it will start over again.

I will throw this in. SA better teach left wing lock so this team doesn't implode in the 3rd period again next season. Allowing the opposition odd man situations in the neutral zone late in the game ain't good

continue to goosestep in minyanville behind your fearless leader and remember don't have an opinion
don't be critical of ........... or he may post something mean about you because yes he is mean Ha ha ha

Re: RPI 2010 Off-Season Thread II -- We Can Rebuild Them. We Have the Technology!

Does anyone remember when this thread wasnt about Beman and RC not being able to get along? Let me help get it back on track by making a statement about the upcoming season. We are hosting a team that played in the Frozen Four last season (RIT), a team that literally has no place to go (Alabama-Huntsville) and go and visit our former AD Ken Ralph out in Colorado. Also does anyone have any clue who the team will be in the exhibition game?

This is too funny for words. I just had to quote it for the extra laughs.

My, that's mature.

You are a all little RC follower, I understand. Headdesk that is stupid little thing, very sophomoric

Oh, look who's talking about other people being sophomoric now? In such rapid succession?

No one here "follows" me. Perhaps people simply agree with what I'm saying more often - because I'm right far more often than you are.

If you look back RC goes after me because I critize SA, the way the team is playing, things the team does that I don't like.

Wow. You are such a martyr, aren't you? Come on, Beman, tell 'em how I go after you because you wear the wrong brand of t-shirts and I don't like your dietary choices either. That'd be about as accurate as what you just said.

BTW, the Dude was right - the D-I conference has been named in this thread repeatedly. Unfortunately, it appears you were too busy being a petulant whiner to notice.

On those points:

* RIT's Frozen Four appearance last season, while impressive, doesn't fill me with any concern that RPI won't be the favorite in that game. We'll see how the early season plays out.

* While I'm glad the Institute is doing even more than its fair share to help UAH fill out its independent schedule with four games - it's so much harder to schedule when you don't have a whole block of games already in the can before you start - I worry that we might end up playing them on Saturday night in the tournament and have three games with them on the schedule. Nothing wrong with the team, I just prefer a little more variety.

* The CC series has definitely been in the works for a while now and I'm glad to see it come to fruition. We might even be able to count on a return trip in 2011-12, since Clarkson went out to CC in 07-08 and got a return in 08-09. That would be fun.

* I'm sure it'll be some Canadian team. That early in the season I think the likelihood of playing the U-18 team is pretty low. PEI was a great matchup last year, I'd honestly rather see that than see a team like Ottawa which came in and was never close to being a match. Since it doesn't matter if the team wins or loses the exhibition, it's better to have a challenge to better prepare them for the coming season.

I was disappointed the U-18 team wasnt on the schedule last year, especially since they played in Schenectady on a Friday and then over at Williams the following night. I agree, the likelihood of playing the U-18 the first weekend in October is very low but theres some free dates in December they could schedule a game.

As for the Canadian team, PEI was nice surprise. I was almost expecting a game like the Ottawa one was a few years back. Although Ottawa might be a good team next year if JL is on the Gee Gees roster. (IIRC, UofOttawa was one of the places mentioned where JL could end up next year)

Im looking forward to making a trip out to the springs this October, if the schedule works to my favor, Id like to stop in Dubuque to see a Saints game as well.

CC coming to Troy would be indeed be a fun set of games. I hope we get a tough canadian team like PEI or New Brunswick. While putting up 2 touchdowns and a missed extra point up is fun and all I like having a challenge early on before heading out to CC for the 2 games.

The "headdesk" is frustration. I do wish to disagree with other posters here at times, but I make sure that I have good reason for doing so. Also, do you know how many times RC has called out what I have said on here? Take my post count, and divide it by about 6 or 7. However, I see what he says as constructive, because I feel as if he's only trying to make me a better poster on here. Seeing as how he's rarely wrong, I find it a smart idea to take his criticism (which is always constructive, sometimes you have to read between the lines) and better what I say on here.

If you look back RC goes after me because I critize SA, the way the team is playing, things the team does that I don't like.

You want to criticize our coach? Fine. Have some good reasoning other than the fact that he's had a few losing seasons. So did Fridgen. So did many other coaches in our history. So do many coaches this year, in fact.

I will throw this in. SA better teach left wing lock so this team doesn't implode in the 3rd period again next season. Allowing the opposition odd man situations in the neutral zone late in the game ain't good

This is probably one of your first few posts in a while where analysis of the game defends any critiques of RPI's team. I'm sure coaches probably look around these boards as well as the tapes (though more likely the tapes) to see where our team needs to improve, and they'll go into practice with that on the agenda. From a standpoint of the Dartmouth and Colgate away games, the 3rd goal coming from my left side (I was behind our goal, and yes I know, it was the power play, but it still is a good comparison because we had the chance to clear it out), you may have a point as to where we need to work. A lot of our goals against stem from individual mistakes, but we'd probably have to look closer as to whether they happen primarily on the left side, or something else (i.e. equally distributed, most in the center, etc.)

I hope we get some return trips as well. I know with Miami we had a two-year home/home weeks, the same with a lot of the Hockey East teams (old rivalries may have a part in that), RIT is happening this year and next, and so forth. I'd be thrilled to watch a WCHA team play without having to travel a long length. I know I saw Michigan Tech last year at the Joe, even though we did not play them. I can understand that their travel budgets are already very high because the teams are so spread out, but I receive well those that do it, especially CC and SCSU.

Two years ago was U-18, and last year was a pretty good game. I wouldn't be surprised if the scheduler is looking to get the more challenging exhibitions. Perhaps a Quebeçois team? I'm not sure if McGill is that good, or a team near Quebec.

I wish I could enjoy the beautiful weather. Unfortunately, there is rain in the forecast here. Ah well, it gives me a chance for spring cleaning, which, looking around, is desperately needed.
