So it is possible to turn back time?

Yes, I guess it was.

8 October was my original guess.

I would have thought the two games with Union could have been swithed.
They could have been, but it looks like Jim McLaughlin (Union's Athletic Director) won the "we want to play at home on Friday" battle.

Is Friday considered the better day?

Well, if you figure that you're more likely to win at home, building momentum, making it easier to sweep a home-and-home...

It may also have to do with the fact that RPI has hosted the first in-conference games between the Engineers and the Dutchmen in both 08-09 and 09-10. I suppose it was our turn to be away first.

I didn't realize that we already had two in a row.

Last year's wasn't back-to-back games (and it was a Wednesday), so it's easy to forget about it.

I see a couple 4 and 5 pm starts. Is this due to basketball or EMPAC having a big event?

Re: RPI 2010 Off-Season III -- How we learned to stop worrying and love the Class of '14

I would expect that the 5 PM start for the game on October 16 was chosen so that fans who attend the football game on that Homecoming/Reunion weekend can then just walk over to the Field House for the hockey game, rather than having to leave the area and then come back again in the evening.

The basketball schedule hasn't been posted yet. I know RPI hosted a basketball tournament early in December last year, so it's possible that the 4 PM start for the December 4 hockey game could be related to plans for a similar tournament. But I wouldn't think it likely that the basketball team would be hosting a tournament in late January, because they're usually into their league schedule by that time.

Am I the only one concerned about the Pirri trade. Why trade for the guy unless they thought there was a shot at him? Maybe the Blackhawks want to see him more hockey focused. From my calculation he could play all next year (age limit 20 in OHL) in the O and then go to the Hawks. Blackhawks are in cap hell and will need cheap, young talent (see article below).

I would have been shocked if he wasn't.

T-Bone and I have attended a few of these camp games in LP ...I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a mid-summer hockey fix...July 30-Aug. 7..the Finns and Swedes will be in attendance.

I for one don't see him playing in the NHL that quickly...he needs to add size and strength in order to survive puck battles...even the AHL would overwhelm him right now. He needs time to let his body catch up with his skill, which is exactly why RPI is the right place for him, IMO.

Dubuque brought 16 kids from the prospect camp to their main camp which runs today thru Saturday. Article says Monty initially planned on bringing 10 or so kids over, but saw too many kids who earned a long look, so he is bring 16. No details as to whether Doc's behemoth forward is among the 16...:p

I would have been shocked if he wasn't.

Schott neglected to mention Jason Zucker who won gold at U-18 and the WJC. The kid from Las Vegas will be attending DU this fall.

It appears that Sudbury is more interested in Visca than Saginaw is in Pirri.I don't know how these things work but Visca didn't have the best year @ Lowell last year and might have reached out to the OHL...but wanted to go back to Ontario & this facilitates that.I know this is tortured logic but could be a possible explination'

Today is 18 June 2010. There are 112 days (16 weeks) until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 8 October for the start of next season.

That probably is indeed the situation.

Not playing at all at UML definitely fits "didn't have the best year". :)i

I do like them big! Mario DiPaolo size if possible(perhaps only Ralph will remember him). Of course I would want him to provide far more offense than the 1 goal big Mario scored. ;)

I suspect that others do remember him.

Mario suffered by being born on my birthday, January 2. Since birthdays have been included in media guides, two players have been born on that date, DiPaolo and Jason Fortino. Clearly the day is jinxed. :D
