RPI 2010-2011 VI- Red Dead Redemption

Re: RPI 2010-2011 VI- Red Dead Redemption

Thanks Melrose for assuming a UND/Denver final and not even mentioning RPI in passing. Schmuck.

Re: RPI 2010-2011 VI- Red Dead Redemption

So now we can big a big surprise and sneak up on everyone! Melrose doesn't even think we exist.

Well that ought to get the boys going! According to all the articles that is how Chase got to this position-by being over looked. Game On!

Congratssssssss RPIIIIIII....OOOOOOO that hurt lmao !!!

Re: RPI 2010-2011 VI- Red Dead Redemption

I have mixed feelings about being ignored on the selection show. Hopefully ND will think that they are playing nobody. On the other hand, I think that our boys deserved some recognition for a very good season.
Shhh, don't let North Dakota know there is another team on the ice with them.

Re: RPI 2010-2011 VI- Red Dead Redemption

Remember, we're undefeated this year when playing the #1 team in the country...

ESPN3.com eh....Just note some areas may not be able to get this. Albany Time Warner Cable customers are good to go, just gotta sign up.

RHam - any way you RPITV folks, in combination with the Field House, can rig up a watching party with the fancy new scoreboard?

Re: RPI 2010-2011 VI- Red Dead Redemption

In case anyone missed it-RPI was mentioned for 1/4 of one second during the ESPN2 selection show. The graphic for their quarter of the tournament was on screen for a full 2 seconds. I understand spending more time on the favorites (the 1 or 2 seeds) but that was just ridiculous. As far as the Hobey Baker selections-I guess Chase is getting overlooked again. This should make for some interesting material to fire up the team in the locker room this week. Go Red!

Re: RPI 2010-2011 VI- Red Dead Redemption

Congrats on making the Tournament. Now If RPI and DU can get wins on Saturday, we get to play each other on Sunday.
That would be fun!
Go RPI!
Go DU!

This would be fun; maybe even on EMPAC's bigger screen. Though I'm not sure if the EMPAC staff would appreciate a bunch of rowdy hockey fans.

Also, a couple notes on ESPN3, since it is a bit of a weird service. Whether or not you can access content on ESPN3 is determined by your ISP. Some/most ISPs have secured the rights with ESPN to allow their customers to watch ESPN3 video. If you do not get ESPN3 access, there are some workarounds. If you have a friend or family member with ESPN3, you can have them set up a remote viewing account, and then you'll be able to watch just fine using their account. You could also probably proxy your way around their restrictions, but I think the remote viewing option is easier.

I spent around 13 hours yesterday watching the 12 Hours of Sebring on ESPN3 and have zero complaints about quality. It's not as crystal clear as HD cable, but it's perfectly watchable on a big screen.

Re: RPI 2010-2011 VI- Red Dead Redemption

I guess given 1/2 hour doesn't leave much time to discuss teams. CC, UN-O and not for Leaman talking about them UM-D didn't get any airtime either.....but to just jump right over RPI & UWM & say ND and Denver play again next week....geesh

Re: RPI 2010-2011 VI- Red Dead Redemption

March 26th-will be the latest date we have ever played hockey other than in 1985. At least no matter what happens we will have a shorter off season than most any other year. Here's hoping we play to the level of the competition which we seem to do. We certainly should be well rested-and i hope healthy.

Re: RPI 2010-2011 VI- Red Dead Redemption

We have that chance for one game. I couldn't be happier. Are we underdogs? Probably. However, our chances at a national championship are a heck of a lot better than if we were not in the field of 16. The team has new life. Let's make the most of it!

There have been huge upsets in recent tournaments. RIT and Holy Cross just to name two.
We are rested should be healthy and when we were healthy, we could beat any team in the country. If we are not taken seriously, ND will be in for a rude awakening.

Re: RPI 2010-2011 VI- Red Dead Redemption

Argghh....Even though I knew it was highly unlikely given the seedings, I was hoping for Bridgeport. It's 15 minutes from my house. Instead we got Union. Usually I root for the ECAC teams but I'm not sure I can bring myself to do it.
