Right the Amish...forgot about them. Not much exposure to the Amish way out West here. The only one I know is Ishmael from the movie Kingpin...:)

There is quite a few of them in Upstate NY. In the Potsdam/Canton area (Clarkson, SLU, Potsdam), you even see the warning signs on the road. Elmira is actually a well known centre for the Amish....Elmira, Ontario that is...It's a tourist attraction there.

Yikes...what went on down at the friendly confines of the Ritter tonight?

Plenty O rough stuff... a few``5 4 Fighting`` and ejections. Did RIT get a 3rd Women in or something. :eek:

Looks like the Tigers are gearing up for a playoff run.. :)

Quite frankly we're not sure what started the fight. We just looked over and Fortuna was mixing it up with a Cortland player.

Cortland got the 3rd woman in. We only lost Fortuna to the fight. Former Tiger Maggie Giamo was the 3rd into the mix (I believe) which drew the rest of the Tigers to chase her down.

There was some more rough stuff later on but for the most part after that scrum things calmed down. I'm shocked Katie Stack didn't get any unsportsmanlike calls for some of the stuff she was pulling tonight, but I guess the refs felt it was okay. There must have been a lot of jawing on the ice or from the Cortland coach, who was pretty animated tonight.

I think Cortland is a proud team that's struggling to improve and in all liklihood getting tired of losing. That usually gets your dander up....

Well if they're getting tired of losing they should do something about it instead of gooning it up. Scottie really held back on the reigns since this game could of been a lot worse.

After tonight's display from Cortland's coach, I wonder if coaching doesn't have something to do with the losing. Their goaltending wasn't poor by any means, but they simply couldn't exit the zone, which is typical of a lot of games against RIT with the exception of the good teams in this league, aka Elmira and Plattsburgh, which do a great job of keeping RIT to the outside and transitioning quickly against our D.

Also, I feel it's fair to note that Maggie Giamo as a Freshman for us last year logged 12 points in 25 games, and is Cortland's leading point getter with 15 points in 21 games. Cortland has no offense to back up their capable goaltending, which is really hurting them. Which is really too bad.

I think Cortland's coach is a bit too unstable to properly motivate the team. Just the vibe I got his actions during the game. Which is also weird considering his rather lengthy resume.
