RIT used to play here.

Re: RIT used to play here.

I think the differences ebbs and flows. I think the overall talent level is down right now throughout college hockey. And people in D-I are asking a similar question about the differences between an RIT and a Denver.

To answer your question, I can point to Steve Coon as an example of a player who was not cracking the RIT lineup but has had a wonderful career at Norwich.
Is Steve Coon related to the lacrosse coach at RIT, Jake Coon?

Re: RIT used to play here.

So Remy, do you still think an AHA (aka, a glorified D3 league) team cannot legitimately compete for a national championship?

They wouldnt be calling it huge upsets if it they could now would they. No ofense but I think a lot of great DIII teams could have beat UNH tonight...RIT's win over Denver was much more impressive then anything UNH did tonight...

They are in the Frozen Four. Period. No more excuse making is necessary if you're man enough to just S-T-F-U and admit everything you said no longer applies (it might have at one time in the past).

They are in the Frozen Four. They didn't get an automatic bid straight to the Frozen Four. They beat the Number 2 team and Number 2 seed in the country and the WCHA regular season champions and then beat the Hockey East champions. That means they can legitimately compete for the national championship. Just like any team that has ever made the Frozen Four in the past.

Many, many great hockey programs in super hockey leagues have never even got to the Frozen Four. Maybe everyone else had it wrong also -- they never were upsets in the first place!

And don't forget, Air Force was within one overtime goal of making it to the FF last year. This is NOT a fluke.

Re: RIT used to play here.

For obvious reasons I will NEVER root for RIT. But I must admit...I am quite impressed by what they accomplished.

College hockey is a funny sport and any teams that works hard for 60 minutes can do great things.

Thats exactly what RIT has done in their last two games. I honestly wasn't impressed with Denver last night even though they put up much more of a fight than UNH did.

I was expecting more from the Pios.

What were the odds on RIT winning the national championship at the start of this tournament. I bet someone could be a very rich man in Vegas if there was a line on this:cool:
