RIT used to play here.

Re: RIT used to play here.

RIT had a great run. A tough way to end it. Rooting for BC tonight and Jerry York. Either way, it should be a great game and I will be there.

Re: RIT used to play here.

:) :o As I layed in my hospital bed in Allegheny General Hospital. recovering from back surgery earlier in the day, I did cheer as much as I could for a little D3 magic. It did not happen of course, but as I gazed out the hospital window, which overlooks PNC park and Heinz field I realized how lucky we are in Plattsburgh to have our D3 sports and our worse complaint being the 15 minutes it takes to get out of the parking lot after a big game. On my way to the hospital from our hotel for my pre-op consultation on Tuesday morning, it took 1hr 40min to go that 5.8 mile trip. A word to the wise while traveling in Pittsburgh, avoid I376 east in the morning, and I376 west in the late afternoon; or leave early!!

AGH is an amazing place with a tremendous and well earned reputation. Pittsburgh is a great city with some real interesting neighborhoods. If you know the shortcuts to avoid the traffic it's not bad to get around. If not, then it pretty much sucks. Hope the back surgery heals fast.

While there wasn't a lot of D3 magic on the ice, there was in the stands. Some of the "elite" DI hockey programs and fans seem to have forgotten that these games are supposed to be fun. By all accounts the D3 trained Corner Crew were the hit of the FF. I know I could hear them on ESPN Thursday and Saturday night.

Bird, here's to the simpler things like 15-20 minute drives. Ask anyone in Rochester how long it takes to get somewhere in town and if you have to ask the answer is always 20 minutes - never more.

But most importantly - here's to speedy recovery from whatever ails you.

My surgery was performed by Dr. Jho of the Jho Institue located on the 7th floor of AGH. A little less than seven years ago my son had surgery performed by Dr. Jho for a CSF leak. When all other hospitals advised the only way to fix the leak was a full cranial, Dr. Jho did it through a small hole through the eyebrow and up behind the eye socket. He was playing basketball in four weeks. He would have still been in any other hospital recovering. My surgery only required a small inscision and took less than 1 hour. I was on my way home before noon on Friday, less than 24 hours from the time of the surgery. The man is the best in the world and Pittsburgh is lucky to have him. I still have some pain, but should subside over the next few days.:)

I know Rochester has its traffic also, from my days of Firematic Drill team racing. But it is nowhere near the bottlenecks getting into Pittsburgh in the morning! Recovery should go well, as long as I can sit in an arena seat again I will be a happy camper.
