But man, with both RIT and Sacred Heart (and even AIC to an extent) struggling a bit down the stretch it seems like the playoffs are wide open. Feels like Holy Cross, Canisius, and Army are all playing better hockey in February than the top seeds. Hopefully they can find their game again.
A huge congratulations to RIT for winning the league for the first time in 12 years! That being said, we have underperformed in the league since then. RIT is a big fish in small pond, and I have always felt this should be more often than not.
As for how RIT and Sacred Heart have been performing... I think they were so hot in the beginning no teams could catch them and they both became complacent. Since early January it seems all teams were playing playoff hockey and RIT and Sacred Heart weren't which is a shame because RIT really could have made huge strides in the polls. We'll see what happens in the competition.
Question: Could RIT ever reserve the BCA for the final if they were to make it kind of like the old days?
