Nice recap of yesterday's game on USCHO schedules and results. Interesting comments from both coaches on the first period.
RIT needs production from more players. Too many returning players are under achieving for far too long.

Hopefully Binnington will be able to return next weekend. One of the backups needs to step up today.

Final score 2-1 Union in OT. RIT gave away the tying goal. Both teams came out strong in the third period with RIT first to score but immediately let up their intensity and pressure resulting in the tying goal by Union. Not the way I would have liked to see the second half of the season open up. Can the Tigers win tomorrow? I would say yes but it's Saturday...:D

We have no offence at all. We get loads of shots but they are without serious threat.

Also, Why is it that the team practices odd-man rushes every practice and every warm-up with creative passing but the minute we get an odd-man rush in a game, the puck carrier shoots?

That's because the Gophers use all of your passes. They NEVER shoot on an odd-man rush and teams are really starting to figure that out.

What a frustrating game to watch! I missed the first half of the first period and apparently most of the action until the last five minutes of the game. RIT could have won the game. The second period they came out FLAT. It was very disheartening to watch at times. They couldn't get anything going and were playing very sloppy with no enthusiasm or motivation. I love the Tigers but I don't know what to think of this team. Sometimes it appears that some of the team doesn't even care. They sure didn't play like a team that was wanting to hold on to third place in CHA standings. Too many mistakes including allowing Robert Morris multiple(!) short-handed opportunities and a goal. As for the final minutes of the game with the extra 1-2 attackers, they did a fine job of moving the puck but need to get the puck on net more. I wish they would play 60 minutes at the same level they did the final minutes. I've seen them do it before. The team that played Mercyhurst last Friday night looked nothing like the team that played today. You just never know what team you'll be watching. The only thing consistent about this team is how inconsistent they are. Hopefully they come out tomorrow with a little more determination.

Fantastic sweep this weekend! Can't ask for more than that.

We may only have three seniors, but they scored four of our five goals this weekend, each of them getting at least one (Kunichika with two).

Random questions: Is Casidhe Kunichika still on the team? Did Kolbee McCrea get a medical redshirt for last year?

She is.

She is also on the womens lacrosse team now, so maybe she didn't want to be a two sport athlete.

Great for this program! The first NCAA women's game I ever saw was RPI at RIT, back when both were Div. 3 teams, and it was a proud organization even back then.

One of the most enjoyable aspects of 2013-2014 for me is the continuing increased competition and a little parity in the CHA. No longer a one team show.

So...next year an auto-bid is at stake then?

I had forgotten that they don't have an autobid. A weekend like this should have earned RIT an extension to their season.

No autobid and RIT's at the end of their final probation year, so they couldn't play in the tournament anyway.

Hats off to RIT on their tourney win. Ali handled everything that was shot at her which really frustrated Mercyhurst. I sat in front of her dad and chatted with him in between periods. A nice guy and best of all he is a Cleveland Browns fan!
