RIT TIGERS - 2013-2014 Season

Re: RIT TIGERS - 2013-2014 Season

It's even better to see how they responded from last weekend.
Nice to see Maugeri and Payerl back in the line-up after missing the Clarkson game.

Great win ladies.

Re: RIT TIGERS - 2013-2014 Season

Attended both games, the team was scrappy but gave up too many pucks in their own end. Need to keep their heads up and looking around long before they try to send the puck up ice. Overall though, a gritty team out there that gave both UNH and Northeastern a run for their money. One of the 'Friends of UNH' members I talked to after P1 said they wished the Tiger's put more shots on goal for their goaltender to get some practice. Sometimes, you have to be careful for what you wish for! : )

Thanks for coming east Tiger's, we enjoyed watching you play.

What's up with the Friday win/Saturday loss streak? It looked like they could/would break the pattern today.

Re: RIT TIGERS - 2013-2014 Season

Geez, we outshot them 55-19? I'll say this: we gotta stop giving teams power plays in overtime. I also wonder if having Stoddart in goal instead of Binnington was a factor.

That's harsh. I'd say the biggest factor is the fact that RIT could only score 1 goal on 54 shots.

I would agree. I was happy to see that RIT pretty much dominated on the power plays, and kept the puck for almost the full 2 minutes each time. They cycled a lot, and took shots and got the rebounds, but couldn't put anything past the brick wall of a goalie that Brown had. Tough loss.

What's harsh? Pointing out that RIT outshot them (and thus presumably outplayed them) by a considerable margin? Or noting that this marks two Saturdays in a row that RIT has committed penalties in overtime that led to goals? Or wondering if the fact that this was Stoddart's first collegiate start might have been a factor in a tough loss?

Nice shutout win for the Tigers yesterday over Lindenwood. Will today be the day that they 1) complete a sweep and 2) get their first Saturday win of the season?

Out of curiosity, a whopping 47 people supported the Lions women's hockey program yesterday. What is the attendance over/under for today's game? Sheeesh, that's pathetic.

45 people Saturday. Thank you so much RIT for providing a program and support where people want to come watch these talented girls play. 300 people is a small crowd at RIT.

45 is just embarrassing.

Re: RIT TIGERS - 2013-2014 Season

I'll take three out of four points for the weekend and they did break their lose on Saturday streak. Overall good away weekend for the girls. Now they just need to figure out how to get more of their shots IN the net. RIT had twice as many SOG and PP vs Lindenwood on Saturday and yet ended in a 1-1 score. What gives? I'll definitely give credit to RIT's opponents but come on some of those other shots have got to get by. Over a month into the season and I haven't seen much growth in their game play. Maybe it's time to change up the lines and see if it can spark some chemistry..??...

45 people in attendance is sad. RIT has an awesome fan base!!

HUGE WIN against Mercyhurst today. Sounded like Binnington made some HUGE saves to earn the win, and even though the team got into some penalty trouble towards the end, they held on for the win. Congrats to the team!

Re: RIT TIGERS - 2013-2014 Season

RIT is the last undefeated team in CHA play, leads in winning percentage, and is only two points out of first with two game in hand. Could the Tigers be the surprise story of the year?

Re: RIT TIGERS - 2013-2014 Season

Good weekend for RIT, played well in a weekend split.

Mercyhurst shortens its bench so much that its ridiculous. Number 27, 13 & 4 play 75% of the game and numerous talented players never see the ice. Never seen a coach shorten the bench that much at this level. Can't imagine how frustrating that would be for the players who are dressed and rarely play. Can't be very good for team unity and not a good strategy long term, by the end of the season the stars are exhausted and the rest of the team has mentally checked out.
