Woooo what a start to the season! 3 goals from our defense! Got outshot, and out drawn on face-offs but not out-hearted if thats even a word : ) we got good goal tending too with all of those shots. 0 for 5 on pp isnt great but still we beat #3 Michigan! Now as a side note I loved Cam Burt when he was here and he was an awesome player - its so disappointing to hear the negative stuff about him still. Cam you will always be an important part of RIT hockey history, I bet he still reads this ; ). On to a great season with an amazing team!!

What an exciting game tonight! Let's hope for a strong effort tomorrow as well. Very excited about this team this year after listening to these first two games on WITR. I'm making the trip up next weekend to see them in person. I was so excited listening to that 3rd period that the VP Debate and the Yankee game also blaring somewhere in the house became white noise as all my attention went to hanging on the words of our radio announcers who did a fantastic job tonight. Wow!

THIS is the RIT team we've been waiting for. A team that believes in itself and doesn't give up. It would have been really easy to admit defeat after you get scored on within the first minute of the game. No one would have been surprised if Michigan destroyed us, and we would have chalked it up to a great learning experience. RIT got that late goal in the first, held their own in the 2nd and kept up the pressure despite being down by 2 goals to a better team with 11 min to go in the game.

So far, I like the trend. Let's see if we show up tomorrow. We'll need too, because if Michigan thought that they could intimidate RIT, they don't think that anymore.

P.S. No Colavecchia and we still had offense. Imagine when he gets back on the ice.

P.P.S. Giving Hartley the "A" seems to have changed how he understands his role on the team. I think he's stepped up this year, which is great to see.

Also, no Garbowsky. I think this is going to be a super high scoring team, just based off what I've seen (and now heard) from them. We've got the talent and now we've got the strategy as well.

Hartley seems to have a knack for big goals at times like this. See: St.Lawrence last year. I also believe he was the guy who scored the OT game winner against Air Force at home 2 years ago?
