>>>>> RIT TIGERS 2012-13: Clawing our way up the standings in the 2nd half

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2012-13: Clawing our way up the standings in the 2nd half

AIC will be coming to RIT.

Playing AIC actually scares me more than playing Bentley.

Add that to the list of things I never thought I'd say.

Being eliminated in the first round by AIC would be the coup de grace to ending this painful season. Eh, still have my fingers crossed for the NCAA tourney.

To be honest, there is no team I'd rather lose to. AIC has been the hottest team in the AHA since the break, and frankly if anybody deserves one good season, it's them. I'm a big fan of Meisner, mad respect for what he's accomplished over his career on a team that used to be Sacred Heart bad.

If I had to pick a second favorite college hockey team, I might go with them. At least until Meisner leaves.

I think this just points up exactly how goofy this season has been. Who would have thought that we would ever use AIC and "hottest " in the same sentence.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2012-13: Clawing our way up the standings in the 2nd half

Certainly AIC is the hottest team in the AHA. They are hardly the team that RIT took 3 points from in November. They could be looking at this as a big chance to take down one of the traditional power teams in the league on their own turf.

If Mitchell and Hartley can play, I think that makes a differance.

Certainly AIC is the hottest team in the AHA.

Air Force?

Agree with LtPowers on this...Air Force is playing very well, Serratore and company sent a clear message to Niagara this past weekend. As much as it would be ugly for RIT to get knocked out in the 1st round against AIC it would be even worse for Niagara to get knocked out in the 2nd round and not get into the NCAA after a terrific regular season.

Especially if RIT did it! :)

I'm 100% hoping that either Air Force or RIT knock Niagara out at BCA. That way two teams can contend in the NCAA tourney.

LOL, after I re-read my post I thought the same thing!

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2012-13: Clawing our way up the standings in the 2nd half

The image from the webcam at the rink construction site is pretty poor considering the expertise/technology resources that must be available at RIT. Does anyone know if there's any effort going on to improve it?

Air Force's sweep of Niagara has made that extremely unlikely. Niagara stands at 13th in the PairWise now. One more loss could drop them out of the top 16. Niagara needs to be no lower than 15th if another AHA team advances. And if a dark horse wins in another league, maybe 14th. AHA is almost certainly now only going to get one team.

Niagara can ill afford to lose its Quarterfinal series because if they do they are not getting an at-large bid.

They will definitely be out with a quarterfinal series loss. Even if they sweep the qfinal and lose one game in the semis or finals, they are probably done as well.

The only way that can happen is if there's a significant upset in the first round, otherwise the winner of the RIT-AIC series will be headed to Niagara for the 2nd round. I can't see Sacred Heart or Army taking out RoMo/Mercyhurst, so really the only chance would be for Bentley to upset Canisius....and then that would mean RIT would have to go up to Air Force in the 2nd round and that would be VERY long odds for RIT.

Between Air Force and Niagara, I would rather take my chances against Niagara.

And that is assuming the Tigers can get past AIC.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2012-13: Clawing our way up the standings in the 2nd half

Playing AIC actually scares me more than playing Bentley.

Add that to the list of things I never thought I'd say.

Playing anyone should scare you right now after an absolutely dreadful weekend the Tigers played against Canisius. That was about as embarrassing as watching the disgrace of a final game that RIT played against Elmira at the end of the D-III era. The only difference was only one team was or should be embarrassed at how far they have fallen. Like Wilson said on Saturday the entire weekend was unexplainable and inexcusable. They basically cemented worst D-I team in school history with a performance like that. Leaves little to be optimistic about heading into the playoffs

Someone please que Jim Mora....

Part of me kind just wants them be swept out at the Ritter next weekend and head back to the drawing board so we do not have to watch this painful show any more. Bout the only thing that makes me not wish that is 3 Seniors who I really feel deserve better, to think they came in with a Frozen Four run and now are reduce to that... In My Opinion That SUCKS....
