Don't let's forget who was in office at the time we moved up to D-I.

Powers &8^]

The guy who dug in his heels as much as he could against it?

Yes, i know, i was looking to get a bunch of reserved seats for the mrs and another couple and wanted to know which section would be best.

No ID when i graduated....Skimped me i guess.

They can also just look you up at the box office with your name, class, and photo ID. No need for a proper RIT ID, I don't believe.

I went to the Alumni Ball last night and El Presidente Destlero spoke for a brief moment on the drive to build a new arena. He showed two CG images of the proposal. We've seen the one before, with the exterior shot. The second one was an interior shot. It wasn't up for long, and there weren't any truly distinguishing characteristics, but there was one bowl, and no window at the end opposite the picture. I wouldn't be surprised if this picture sneaks out in a video at some point this weekend.

Have you seen RIT's coverage? In HD?

Powers &8^]

I access the games through the America One network.. so no it's pretty ****ty coverage at Ritter.

It's even better in person!
AF recovered from some shaky goaltending early to pull out the come-from-behind OT win. Colorado Springs native Cody Campbell has several highlight-reel saves for Niagara, which looked to tire towards the end (outshot in the 3rd and 4-0 in OT, despite two PP in the last five minutes of regulation).
Looking forward to AF-RIT. Always great games.

That was a good rally to come back and eventually win in OT. I'll be heading to one of the games in Feb with a few other RIT alumni since I've recently relocated to AZ and it'll be the only chance I get to see them in person this year.

I can't say the Tigers played well; there were an awful lot of miscues. But they sure turned it on when they were down two, and then especially at the end of regulation and the start of OT. Wow!

The replay wasn't clear, but I didn't see any head-contact by Descoteaux on his major. Was that a bad penalty?

Couldn't tell either but the SLSU player was sure acting it up.

What I wanted to see was a replay of what everybody thought was a sure goal that got called off. Anybody know the story on what happened there?

Good come back by the team, I was starting to hate BCH games until the OT win.

Time Warner will be replaying the game on Wednesday night -- set your DVRs.

Re: >>>>> RIT Tigers 2011-2012 <<<<< Dreaming is Done, Time to ROAR

A very exciting game tonight. We sure got value for our dollar, but it also felt a lot like the game vs UMass-Lowell last year. Much of the contest was sloppy and unorganized on both sides. And, how good can you feel beating an 0-3 team at "home" with a series of truly improbable plays at the end? Take it when you can get, it I guess, but there's lots of work to do. Mitchell's goal reminded me of a similar goal he had last year in overtime at Ritter, splitting the defense and poking it in.

I was down at that end. The shot went off the outside of the net, but moved it as if it were inside.

I talked to a couple of the guys that work in he production truck and from what they saw from the angels was Descoteaux come in for a hit his elbow hit then rolled due to momentum to the head thus the 5 and misconduct for incidental contact.

I disagree with part of what they were saying. I watched the replays several times and he comes in with his elbow up and leading with it. Definitely a penalty and I think he antics afterwards was what helped get him the misconduct.

And he was totally on board with the move?
I'd Credit Wilson and Spiotti over Simone. He was against it for years fearing the school may not be know for academics afterward.
Don't know where the sudden change of heart came from. Maybe finally seeing the Light at the end of his Tenure.

On another note, great to see them take one at the BCA. Great comeback, you could hear the place rock on the radio feed.

Unfortunately due to how early in the season homecoming is, the games are always going to be sloppy. No team has really had time to gel yet.

This must be what Air Force fans feel like after pulling out the last second win :)

My understanding was that it came from the trustees (at least a group of them) who "convinced" Simone to see the light. In my mind the credit for leadership on this issues falls squarely with the trustees. Implementation and success go to Wilson and Spiotti (and I'm sure many others) with a strong injection of support from the top with Destler's arrival.

As far as last night, I remember the first few BCA games with 4-5K fans in orange as bing something I thought I'd never see at RIT. These last 2 years at BCA are simply amazing to witness for someone who has been around campus for 3 decades. It is just wonderful to see the spirit on campus, not just for hockey, and it is also amazing to see the quality of hockey. We might say they looked sloppy last night, but I watched the last half of the 3rd and the short OT this morning and to steal a quote "these guys are good".

All the better that it ended in a very memorable win. Good things to come for the program for sure.

Re: >>>>> RIT Tigers 2011-2012 <<<<< Dreaming is Done, Time to ROAR

Great game last night, but here are my arguments for the SLU game in 05-06 as the best regular season win, at least in the D1 era:

1) The SLU team in 05-06 was a better team. They came into the Ritter 3-1, including a win and OT loss against Wisconsin, and were ranked 18th. This SLU team is still winless. Nobody expected the win in 05; even the ECAC fans were 50-50 in their predictions this year.

2) The Tigers played their brains out in 05-06 from beginning to end. Last night was a little sloppy, especially the breakdown on defense for the SLU shorty and that really flukey 4th goal that squirted through Shane's pads.

3) Guimond's performance, no offense to Shane or any other Tiger, was simply the most astounding thing I have ever seen a hockey player, forget goalie, do. SLU shelled him, and he turned back just about everything. Remember, we got outshot 68-15 in that game.

As Tom says, just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Back to the present, Burt now leads the nation in points-per-game after that impressive night. It really seemed like Wilson took what the radio boys asked him about to heart and really used the TV timeouts to keep the top lines in. It seemed like Burt and Potts were everywhere. Now we have to take this energy into Canisius and beat the tar out of them.

It was the way he was coming in. If I remember correctly(I'd have to see a replay to know for sure) it looks like he is holding his stick like he is getting ready to play the puck along with making the hit, thus leading to him leading with the elbow. His elbow hit the shoulder then rolled to the head.

I was talking to a ref last night(and she has her opinions on members of last night's crew) and she said that the rule is an unintentional elbow to the head it's a miscondust and an intentional elbow is a dq.

Welcome back Cameron Burt.

Great to see, Wilson said he worked hard in the off season. I thought he played a very well rounded game last night, even without the points. His play on the blue line keeping the puck in obviously saved the game at the end of regulation.
