Can't say that I do. The loss helps more than hurts IMO.
But it is a HUGE loss even besides losing the undefeated season thing. They're now no longer in first place in ECAC-West. If PSU wins out, the Tigers may have to go to Plattsburgh and win if they want to make the NCAA's. I may be wrong, but it seems like at-large bids to that tourney are very hard to come by.

There is an extra at large bid this year (due to the addition of some more teams in the offseason). Best case is that Elmira takes some points from Plattsburgh when they play in two weeks (in Elmira), and then we get 4 points against Elmira in our home and home in February.

His role with the girls program was on a temporary, and I believe volunteer, basis. This is more permanent position, and I think a great opportunity for DeMike to work with a tremendously experienced coach on a day to day basis.

You are correct that it was voluntary. Not exactly something he could sustain for long, and I agree that this is an amazing opportunity for him to shape a new program.

key portion from president's newsletter. looks like Women's hockey is moving soon:

Our Division I men’s hockey team is once again near the top of the Atlantic Hockey Association standings and our Division III women’s team is, as I write this, undefeated and ranked no. 1 in the nation. This year we will apply to the NCAA to move our women’s team to Division I, a move that we anticipate could occur as early as next year.

Re the new arena. I am sooooooooo tired of sitting on bleacher seats. I welcome the relative comfort of stadium seating, and ticket-specific seats. That way, I'll have no more silly altercations about one of my cheeks resting on someone's blanket with which they're saving room for 12 family members who are arriving shortly, very shortly. OK, an exaggeration for sure, but in the end I will be pleased. Pun intended.

Why the heck would we want to take multiple flights out to Minneapolis every year when we could play teams like Mercyhurst, Syracuse, Niagara, and Robert Morris?

With the ECAC "full", I see no real alternative beyond CHA until perhaps ECAC is one day looking to fill a spot with a school that has both men's and women's teams.

joining the CHA means that both of our teams get to work with the wonderful Bob DeGregorio.
