Hard to believe how far Sacred Heart has fallen in two years. They're giving up over 5.5 goals per game in conference play  Before the game they had actually scored one more goal than the Tigers in AH, so their scoring is adequate...

Wonder if the consecutive charging penalties against SH while the score was 7-0 in the 3rd irritated the Tigers and motivated them to really pour it on.

Nice to see Stuart Brownell finally out there, got a couple points too.

As for the rest, we all knew Sacred Heart was bad but..not this bad.

Irritated Tigers usually leads to a parade to the Tiger penalty box.

So from the looks of it, as long as RIT gets a win tomorrow, we'll be in 2nd only 2 points down from Mercyhurst!

Good start to the weekend for the Tigers, and we haven't even played yet.

AIC beat Mercyhurst and Bentley pulled off a tie against Air Force. Given that I think everyone expects us to get 4 points this weekend, we could make a lot of ground.

They are all tough at this point. All but 3 teams were .500 or better in conference going into the start of today.

Yeah, our schedules are different only by Bentley vs. Holy Cross, as to who we play. All else is the same. Which means we gotta take those 2 with the 'Hurst in 2 weeks.

Playing the Mercyhurst series at Ritter is definitely a blessing. RIT is playing great since the break, and their first games in Ritter in almost 2 months should definitely give them a huge moral boost. If we can take 3-4 points that weekend, I think we have a very strong chance of being regular season champs again.

Also, who would have expected this production out of Colevecchia? On a team that was expected to be led in production by Burt, Mike #4 is really stealing the show, and I think the Freshmen production is getting dependable as well.

Th big differance between RIT and Mercyhurst's schedule is that RIT has 6/12 at home while Mercyhurst only has 3/12. That can be the differance.

The conference race is much too close to be focussing on only Mercyhurst. The race is still long and there are many dogs.

I'll second that. The 8th place team is only 3 points behind the Tigers and 3 teams are within a point of RIT. There is a LONG way to go and a lot of tough games left. RIT is all done with the bottom feeders. It's all contenders left on the schedule now.

I'll third that 9th place Canisius is only 6 pts back from the Tigers. This league is way to close to be saying that one weekend will decided the final season standings.

For anyone that cares RIT has a chance to pick-up the AHA Belt this weekend against Bentley.

How does the RIT belt work? Whom ever holds it, then loses, the winner will then be the bearer of it?

I am not that surprise, I thought Cole was the most talented freshman last year, even though he did not have the numbers of Lynch or Mitchell. I’d would lie if I said I expected this level of production, especially when you consider the charges that surfaced against his father this past summer I think Mike deserves a big pat on the back.

I posted a little back on the stretch run, and the points been echoed on Mercyhurst’s road schedule. I think RIT in great shape and actually I see this weekend as a bigger key than just about the others. After this weekend inter-pod play is over. So everyone has basically the same schedule. I think there is a real possibility that you will get 1 if not 2 team from the East Pod in the top four thanks to unbalance schedule. So every point against the East is that important, RIT took care of business against SHU, if they can take 2 or more points in Bentley they will be in great shape, especially considering that they have home games to face Mercyhurst and Robert Morris.

Air Force’s trip up last weekend is good news for Tigers fans, because they scare me the most still. Air Force has a history of playing well at the end of the year. Robert Morris has played great at times the last few years, but has a history of losing some games they should. Mercyhurst will be tough, but I think they are too young and too many road games. Canisius has surprised me with their ability to hang close, but I see them not being able to hang will with the rest of their Western Pod teams. Wild Card is Niagara. If they can sweep AIC they will official be the dark horse candidate.

Again keep an eye on Bentley/RIT and Holy Cross/Mercyhurst this weekend. I think this will tell us if the top 4 will be 3-1 West spilt or an even 2-2 top four…

Thanks!

Anyone else here hate the Plattsburgh woman's team?

Can't say that I do. The loss helps more than hurts IMO.
