RIT may play North Dakota next year in the Alaska tourament. Still say we need to send Chris Lerch to bribe Sarah Palin to make that happen :D :D :D

If they can constiatntly fill the Blue Cross like they did this year, that will get a "big" name team in there. I think they already have, Clarkson and Cornell are just about as big named as anyone else...

Got to disagree here. People in the seats don't matter squat to the teams coming in. Playing a team that will help them in the RPI or in prestige is what is important. Unfortunately RIT doesn't greatly help with either right now.

As for big named programs...yeah, Cornell is one. But it is a heck of a lot easier to get a big name program to travel two hours than it is 8 or 10 or flying across country. Clarkson....not so much a big name anymore.

Clarkson played at the Ritter not at BCA though. Unless they this was sometime prior to the last 3 years. I would love to see us play Cornell again though. 7k RIT fans with the couple thousand Cornell would bring create a great atmosphere that would really showcase college hockey to the Rochester community. Even more so than 3 years ago.

Is RIT actually playing in that Alaska tournament? I though Chris or someone posted that we weren't.

Don't really know. Coach Wilson told Ed and I directly that he knows nothing about the rumors of RIT playing in Alaska next season.

RPI played there this year, and I find it doubtful that they would travel to Alaska two years in a row.

By the way, congrats on the win streak. Good luck against Holy Cross when you get back from break.

The way both Alaska tourneys are set up, the two visiting teams never play each other; they each play each of the two Alaska teams.

Anyone else surprised by Army's back-to-back spanking of Canisius this past weekend? One more reason to be Thankful - Canisius could have taken sole possession of first in the conference with two wins over the holiday. A single win would have tied Canisius with Air Force for second.

Army's wins also get them out of the cellar.

Army has traditionally been tough at home. That they beat Canisius twice is a bit of a surprise. The way the Grifs had been going, I would have figured a split.

And here I think I picked Canisius to sweep in Pick'em. Glad they didn't!

Surprised...Not Really. Canisius is a 1 and a half line team with one goaltender. Loewen has been struggling this year, I heard a rumor that he had H1N1 Flu. There scoring has either been there in games they have won or absent. Canisius will go as far as Morrison, Conacher, Weeks, Kostuch, and Scarsella can take them. I see them being 5th or 6th with an outside chance of making the final four. Even if they had swept Army and taken frist RIT would still have had two games in hand on them and would have been one point down. It a hugh loss for Canisius to lose all 4 points.

Army is a lot better than there recent results, I still expect them to be middle of the pack. Getting close the the midway point of the season I see the teams settling in like this

1 & 2 - Toss up between RIT and Air Force

3 - Mercyhurst they always come on strong after the half way point

4 - Bentley, check with me after the weekend as I will see them at Canisisus

5 & 6 - Holy Cross and Canisius on Bentley's tail but both hitting the road for the first round.

7 through 9 - Army and Sacard Heart will host play ins, I am guessing AIC to play at Army and UCONN visits Sacard Heart....

Edit: Canisius gets help by the schedule this year, too, if you consider that they only play Air Force and RIT twice each. They picked up two out of four points against Air Force - Hopefully RIT can do better than that against them.
