RIT 2010-11: What do Tigers dream of?

Re: RIT 2010-11: What do Tigers dream of?

Go west young man, wth?

What's the problem? We got lucky last year by being in a bracket with Cornell and New Hampshire -- and with the other three top seeds having regional sites close to home, making it easier to move Denver to Albany. If we make the tournament again, it's highly likely we'll have to go somewhere far away.

He's a little tall to replace Ropponen. Seriously though, looks good. :)

Not only are his stats pretty good, he shows consistency year over year (granted, two years isn't much of a sample). That's something that the Tigers seem to struggle with at times.

Basing purely on statistics, that team looks to be tearing up the OJHL. His stats are fantastic, his backups W/L#'s are fantastic also, but thier Gaa/S% are way below Ruby's which has to stand for something. The Team is middle of the Pack offensively, so they have to be fairly strong defensively and in goal. Looks like Ruby is a constant there, and hopefully in Rochester....

I'm being selfish, I live in the east and the regionals here are a quick 1 to 4 hour drive. I'll be in Singapore in March anyway so I'll be missing out on going to a game, regardless of where they play.

I would rather play Yale than any other #1 team based on their style. But with 3 WCHA teams in the #1 band and a WCHA team in the #4 band, they pretty much need to have that team play Yale. Putting RIT in the East or Northeast regionals would not hurt attendence-wise as there is a good contingent of fans who would make the trip/live in the area.

:):):)That's it, ruin the Tigers Dreams... Heck I was wondering who we're going to have to beat to make it to the national championship game...:):):)

I second your comment, and suggest to get started we beat 'hurst first. How's that for alliteration....

Also, since this thread is approaching the magical lock down limit I'll make the first suggestion to Komey for the name of the new thread. >>>>> RIT 2010-2011 - Part II - Dreams Become Reality <<<<<

Single game weekends suck..... Oh well, guess I'll have to hit the Aud tonight to watch UC and Hobart... That, and have a beer too...

Exactly!
First... Beat Mercyhurst, Air Force, Canisius, and Robert Morris, then...
Unless the Tigers finally figure out a way to actually beat Niagara, they're going to find themselves possibly without a first round bye and then down the road having to take on the Puple Eagles yet again at the BCA (if they both get as far as they should).
If they can successfully maneuver through those shark infested waters, then we can start talking about who and where they play in the NCAA's. The Bracketology is merely a projection (and RIT is only assumed to be in because they currently have the best winning percentage in the conference). There's lots of hockey left. Niagara is two games at hand away from being that assumed AHA representative going West or wherever.

Re: RIT 2010-11: What do Tigers dream of?

I think it will be difficult for RIT to lose the 1st round bye with their 7 point lead and tiebreaker against Robert Morris. Now getting to the AHA championship will likely require a win over Niagara, but Robert Morris is plently capable of winning a game against the Purps.

Couple of nice articles on the front page of collegehockeynews.com right now...

Re: RIT 2010-11: What do Tigers dream of?

RoMo blows a 2 goal 3rd period lead, but wins in overtime in Niagara. The Purps down to one game in hand and still 4 points out.

Re: RIT 2010-11: What do Tigers dream of?

I don't know if this info came out here already, but RPI's schedule for next season, as shown on the Season Ticket application http://www.rpiathletics.com/documents/2011/1/28/1112MHKYOrderForm.pdf?id=978, shows RPI visiting RIT on 11/25/11.

from what i've been noticing and how different teams seem to be aligning, I am lead to believe that upon the imminent conference changes in a few years, RPI, RIT, Cornell(possibly), St. lawrence, Union and some others are already aligning to create a conference. This lends more to that theory with RIT playing RPI 2 years in a row.

Everything will be put into motion when the Big Ten Hockey conference is formed. That will certainly affect the WCHA and CCHA. The CCHA will be down to 8 teams. I would be shocked if they don't at least go to 10 teams. I don't think there will be a lot of Eastern realignment unless Syracuse or someone like that moves up.

Re: RIT 2010-11: What do Tigers dream of?

Ok best case scenario! Maybe?

Robert Morris to win over Niagara because Niagara is more of a threat than Robert Morris. Both Robert Morris and Niagara have to face Air Force in Colorado!

Lets GO TIGERS!

Oh if you see a girl cheering for Hurst. She's mine, please don't kill her please haha.
