Re: Game DVDs from the 2010 NCAA Tournament - Who'd be interested?

I've traded e-mails with the folks at ncaaondemand.com regarding DVDs of the Tigers games in Albany in last years tournament. Their response has been that these games are not currently in the production schedule because of lack of demand. They would gladly do a production run for a bulk order of 25 copies per game at a cost of 24.99 per copy. How many folks out there would be interested? If there is sufficient interest I would be more than happy to coordinate an order.

Post if you're interested....

im in.

Re: RIT 2010-11: What do Tigers dream of?

Well, I just booked a flight to see my family in North Jersey.... Is it coincidence that RIT is in West Point that Wekend? Maybe. Is it also a coincidence the Devils are playing at hte Rock that weekend? Maybe.

Seriously though, i should have a decent crowd with me in West Point. My parents, My Daughter (3), My Brother (RIT Grad also) his kids, and wife. Maybe a neighbor or two.

Anyone know if Tate sells out regularly? We plan on going Friday night, and i dont wanna buy all the tix because you never know when someone could be sick.

I was there over Thanksgiving when they played Niagara and there were plenty of seats. They do get a lot of off-campus fans so that's something to keep in mind. Bought my tickets online and even though the place was half-full, the system put us in line with the goal on the far side of the entrance. Still good seats though and there's no extra charge to buy on-line.

You have to go through a security checkpoint at the gate, make sure all of the adults have photo id or they may not let some of your party in.

For parking, I was told to avoid the upper parking lot as there's a big set of stairs coming down from the upper lot and apparently, it gets iced up pretty bad in the winter months. If you stay on the road past the lot, you'll pass an access road to the arean. Continue on and you'll see some parking spots along the road which is a short walk to the entrance.

Parking rules are stricly enforced so avoid parking in front of fire hydrants or in other no-parking areas.

The RIT/Army games usually do sell out, and the Alumni event helps. If you have Alumni though, sign up through that. Last year both games sold out.

I would love one, and I know of at least a few people that would like one as well

I'm definitely in.

Re: Game DVDs from the 2010 NCAA Tournament - Who'd be interested?

So far 12 folks have expressed interest. Half way to the number (25 copies per game) necessary for a bulk order. I haven't hit the lottery lately, so I can't float the $1250 initial cost. Besides, my wife would either kill me or make me wish she did.

Just to clarify, the cost from ncaaondemand.com is 24.99 per game, if we order a minimum of 25 copies of that game. If you'd want both games (who wouldn't) it would be $50 just for the cost of the disks. Figure postage and sales tax, maybe $5 more, so ~$55 total for copies of both games.

When we get enough interest to meet the 25 copies per game minimum, I'll ask for a commitment (in the form of a check) from everyone before placing the order.

It would probably be easier if the bookstore, athletic department, or alumni relations would buy and then resell. Heck, even use it as a fundraising perk for the new arena. Donate $100 - get 1 game, $200 - get both.

If anyone has a contact, either talk to them, or pass it on to me. In the mean time talk to all your friends out there and sell them on their need for these games.

My fiancee' and I ended up at the Sat night game last year at the last moment. We got tickets at the door no problem, I do not think the game sold out, but was close. They do have reserve seating so it would not be a bad idea to get your tickets early and they are in the ball park of $10 so I don't think that breaks to many banks...

Re: RIT 2010-11: What do Tigers dream of?

I know it's early, but does anyone know if there are any contingency plans to reschedule Friday's game against Canisius in case this winter weather continues?

Appears to be just 1 to 2 inches for Fridays game, should be nothing to worry about...

I went to Primanti a couple years ago and really did not like them, but I am not a big fan of slaw on sandwiches, if you like this it may be for you. My suggestion is on your way to stop in Erie and Steak and Shake. Its right off the 90 near 79 can not miss the sign. Best steakburgers and shakes ever!

USHL Press Release on Sioux City Forward Nick Gordon committing to RIT.

Also on the recruit front:

Forward Brad MacGowan of the Surrey Eagles continues to lead the BCHL in scoring ( 34gm-26g-33a-59pts).

Forward Brad Reid (34gm-16g-21a-37pts) was traded from Coquitlam Express to the Salmon Arm Silverbacks. The Express looks to be team going no where this year, while the Silverbacks are in the thick of chasing for their division lead. He's expected to augment the Silverbacks offense. First game with his new team he posted a goal and an assist.

Powell River Kings of the BCHL are ranked as the top JR A team in Canada this week. Tiger recruit Matt Garbowski - F (36gm-22g-19a-41pts) is second in scoring on the team, and 20th in the league. 2011-2012 recruit Dan Schuler - F is 6th in team scoring (27gm-8g-13a-21pts).

RIT will be an offensive juggernaut next year with these players if nobody leaves early.

When we get enough interest to meet the 50/game minimum

Your original post said 25/game.

First place! Not bad for a team that really hasn't hit their stride yet.

From the box score: Canisius had 19 shots in the game, RIT had 20...in the third period. Put the puck on the net and good things happen, eh?

Eventually, maybe. We had 15 in each of the first two periods and nothing good happened.

Yes it did, and that was correct, it is minimum order of 25 game copies. I've got way too many things on my plate trying to get ready for the holidays. I'll correct my last post.

While their goalie didn't have to make some extraordinary saves, there were definately a bunch of scoring chances - especially in the first period.
