I think he could be a good AHA ref......
So the league would then have one? :)

Shane did learn later as Cory had the same type of break away in the third, but this time Madolora got out and shut down the angle as Conacher tried to go high again.
I sit right behind that net, and it appeared to me that he went five-hole on his second breakaway and Shane closed it up on him.

I would say at least two, I know some hate me for thinking this, but I still think Pete Feola is a good official. Visconte is not too bad either, sometime he becomes one of those who you don't complain about what he calls its the ones he lets go and then calls others. I also dare say last game RIT had Elis he was not so bad....:eek::eek:

On the second Conacher break I am very sure he tried to go high and Mads made a shoulder save, I know he went high I turned and made the same comment to the best looking RIT Tiger fan who was standing next to me ;)

Re: RIT 2010-11: What do Tigers dream of?

Most people get crazier over the holidays so the computer might help you stay sane.:)

Well over the Holidays I will be seeing 20 Hockey games in 11 days live thanks to the World Junior Championships and RIT. I may be a puck next time you all see me...

Re: RIT 2010-11: What do Tigers dream of?

I think we always thought of you as a puck, Tom. A really pucking good guy, who always wants to share his pucking feelings and insights. Puck you, Tom. :)

Well here something you don't hear me say often, TigerFan86-87 was right I was wrong. Checked the film...Conacher did try to go five hole must have had my umpire eyes on for that one or maybe I was seeing a bad replay of the last goal. Eitherway Shane did play it well, read that Cory was on his backhand and really could not lift the puck and this time took away his only option...

RITechie, you have no idea how right you are. I really should be studied ;)

Re: RIT 2010-11: What do Tigers dream of?

Time to bring this out of Page 2....

This weekend's tilt against Robert Morris could be a huge game in the standings. The teams are 1-2 conference record with RIT having games in hand. RIT also handed Bobby Mo a loss at the Ritter - albeit an OT loss. The Tigers were playing great hockey prior to the break and if they get a win Thursday afternoon could set themselves up nicely for another typical second half run.

The 1/1 game against Merrimack will be interesting as well. A home game against a top 20 team, tho one that does not have a lot history of being great. The Tigers already grabbed 1 victory against a then-ranked Cornell, but a win here could really be a nice step up in quality of opponent and move RIT higher in the RPI and possibly into the Pairwise.

I have to think that if the Tigers win both games this weekend they SHOULD move into the top 20 rankings. Robert Morris is getting too much credit for a 5-0 non-conference record: 4 of those victories are against 2 of the 3 worst teams in the country according to KRACH (Alabama-Huntsville and Colgate). They have a chance over the New Year to pick up a good non-conference win against North Dakota, though. RIT with a win will also have a multiple game lead in the conference.

UMass was a bad tie, and St. Cloud and Cornell have struggled a bit, but if you look at RIT's non-conference schedule, it is brutal compared to either Niagara or Robert Morris.

Win both and they certainly will get some votes in the top 20. I don't know if they would get enough to crack the list, but should be among others receiving votes.

I am actually really nervous to go against Robert Morris in a full-size rink. We barely survived against them at the RITTER. I hope we beat them! GO TIGERS!

RIT was also not playing their best hockey at that time either. The last 3 games were the best RIT has played this year.

Re: RIT 2010-11: What do Tigers dream of?

And..........the top of the mountain still belongs to the Tigers!

Was the second goal by RM a result of a high stick that was missed by the officials?

That's what it sounded like from the discussion on WITR, though it didn't sound like it was near as high of a stick as the previous RIT goal by.... Mitchell? that was waived off.

Re: RIT 2010-11: What do Tigers dream of?

To us, it looked like it was tipped in off the heel of the stick about chest height. Refs thought it was below the crossbar, so it counted. The officials had a closer view, though we saw replay from three different angles. It was borderline either way.

The goal RIT had waived off was definitely a high stick.
