Re: Riots and Racists and Looting...OH MY!!!

Because based on this and other (pedestrian) hypotheticals that have been discussed, it comes across as though you guys think that removing the cap or resisting arrest or walking out into traffic are completely irrelevant matters in these cases. And let's not play coy here, you're doing a lot more than just saying that officers should face consequences; you've accused them of systemic racism and oppression in this and other threads.

You're not gonna convince me that a white kid in the suburbs playing with an airsoft (minus orange tip) gets blasted for it or some white kid walking through walmart with a gun he got from the store would either. Especially after Cliven Bundy and friends actually pointed guns at the cops and nothing happened. Or every instance of open carry where (white) people don't get shot.

Except you only say that after saying that the situation could've been avoided if he didn't have the toy gun or saying something ignorant like "don't be a criminal." By making these statements you are trying to move attention from the officer to the victim. You are constantly bringing up the fact of the toy gun. You say "I can't leave the kid blameless."

Basically you're saying "the officer was wrong but..." when it should just be "the officer was wrong."

So a kid waving a toy gun around, that's no big deal in this day and age? Not blameless. Not a majority of the blame, not even close, but not blameless.

No, it shouldn't be a big deal because it happens every day. It should be a big deal that a kid got killed and his killer isn't being punished.

Even in open carry states, you're not allowed to point your gun at a cop. Come on, trix. Shall I point you to the video of a black guy open-carrying at a Tea Party rally in Arizona back in 2010 and he didn't get shot?

These people didn't point a gun at a cop either.

Yeah that totally proves your point!

Why not stick with "this cop was a bad cop" instead of trying to extrapolate it out to a grand racist conspiracy or whatever?

It's not a conspiracy, there are a lot of racist people in this country and that extends to cops who sometimes do stupid things because of it.

Claim: "white people don't get shot for carrying guns in open-carry states" (implying that black people do)
Rebuttal: "here's a black guy who didn't get shot for open-carrying."
Re-rebuttal: "SO?!?"

And again, your side is awfully quick with the racism allegations. That's a hefty accusation to make, so do you have evidence to back that up other than your feelz?

One black guy not getting shot doesn't disprove systemic racism and you'd have to have an IQ of like 70 to think that.

Because anecdotal evidence and statistical analysis indicates that police officers react differently based upon race.

Re: Riots and Racists and Looting...OH MY!!!

Because it's very likely the reason he was trigger happy was because the kid was black.

Gimme proof. Stop playing the race card without that proof. Past actions, trends of said cop, etc.

Edit: not saying there ISN'T racism amongst cops. There is. However, in THIS particular case...prove it.
