Re: Rep Retirement Thread 130: Revolutions Abound!

Did a ride along with my brother to just north of Adrian, lotta ice out that way.

And does anybody want to see what the Whitecaps might be offering up to eat this summer??

Whitecaps new food item poll.

I actually voted for the "Chicks with Sticks" option. I get that stadium food isn't supposed to be healthy, but it would be nice to see something of that nature offered.

You'd like that wouldn't ya, Quiz doens't beat you enough now?

giggidy.

In other news, we completed our first registry at Bed Bath and Beyond today. We're also doing an Amazon wish list. That way I can throw wheels on there that cost more then my bike. :)

speaking of... bacon wrapped Hebrew National hotdog... seems sacreligious.

Not much there seems appetizing though.

edit: if I ruled the world I'd just go to meat (chicken, beef) on a stick with different sauces.... cheap as hell, tasty, I bet I could sell out the world that way.

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 130: Revolutions Abound!

Had my second lobster roll from http://www.redhooklobsterdc.com/.

I wish I worked in the city... getting sick of looking over my shoulder every two minutes on my ride home... I would love if I could go grab dinner and then work to 11PM right now (I'm at home right now... but, project, project, project... gotta get stuff done). Hell, it'd be amazing if we could grab lunch at some place decent.

edit: I'm starting to see food trucks on the weekend in my neighborhood. I don't usually care enough to buy from them... but i'm kinda unadventurous anyhow.

I am eating out for lunch much more than I did when I worked and there also was nothing nearby, so when had to go quite a distance.

I read reviews about the Lobster Truck and it seemed interesting and different. None of the others http://foodtruckfiesta.com/dc-food-trucks/ seemed worth finding. I can't understand paying exhorbitant prices for a cupcake at a strorefront. IMO, the slight difference in price on a truck doesn't make it worthwhile.

I am surpised that you are concerned about your trip on Metro.

I'm stealing that idea. Thanks! ;)

You've probably heard this, but just in case: When you're making the registry, shoot for the moon. People *want* to do special things for you on your wedding. Don't be shy.

Somebody gave us that advice, and it was brilliant. The biggest thing we registered for (this was at Crate & Barrel) was the coffee maker / espresso maker/ milk steamer machine, and the only reason we dared ask for something that expensive (at the time) was that people told us to be bold, to let our family and friends be generous for us. So a week after we registered, we strolled into a Crate & Barrel and printed out our registry, on the off-chance some dish towels had been bought or something. BANG! -- first thing gone is the cappuccino maker. We jumped around the store like . . . well, like a couple of nerdy 25-yr-olds. :)
