No, as far as I was told by my brother he was the only one. The photog gave my brother a CD with his 30 chosen "proof" photos on it (for $20) in a slideshow format and at the end it's filled with a half dozen slides that have more advertising on it and "classmates of his," (he didn't recognize a single person, and his graduating class is 60 people this year).

I'm just looking for insight on this, I've never heard of such blatant advertising in senior photos; or such ego-maniacal photogs.

*edit* It's a complete 180 from when I used the same photog for my senior photos a decade ago.
Yeah, sounds shady to me, if you haven't paid upfront for them, I would tell the photog to stick it and go looking at another photog. **** fool doesn't realize the best advertising is word of mouth.

I called Comcast yesterday to schedule a call for a technician to come tonight, a 5-7pm appointment. Left work at 4:30 so I could get home a little after 5pm knowing they wouldn't get here till later than that. Held off preparing dinner as I figured I could make it after the tech left. All he had to do was switch out the new box. At 7:20 I called to see where the tech was and was told it was never scheduled. JFC. You know, I would switch to Fios but I have a feeling they have the same service issues. The earliest they could come in was Thursday, and I can't do that. Have a game on Friday, so now I may have to wait till Saturday. I am so ****ed right now. And hungry. Too late to cook dinner so I'm having a frozen pizza.

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 130: Revolutions Abound!

Anyone ever hear of the following scam for Senior Portraits?

My brother just got his wallet photos from the photographer (long fight between my mom/bro and the photog*), and across the back of about half his wallet photos is advertising for the company. Not just Company name, but the name/address/photog and file name of the photos, and they're repeated a few times on EVERY photo filling up the back. It looks like it was run through a copier to achieve the effect.

Anyone ever heard of such nonsense? I can understand putting the name of the company on the back, but this sounds like horsesh!+.

* The photographer also "doesn't do proof books," forces you to sit and watch the slideshow of photos (which appear random instead of in order of how they were taken), and then deletes the "proof" digital photo if you tell him you don't quite like it never allowing you a chance to go back and re-view the photos for your final judgment. My brother and mother tried to discuss some issues with the photos back in November, YESTERDAY was the first day the photographer called her back, and only because they withheld payment (photog wanted to be paid-in-full up front back in August, before providing ANY photos (digital or printed)).

Just trying to offer advice from long distance to my brother, but it sadly sounds like the last couple months of his senior year in high school is going to suck with his senior photos being held hostage like this.

My son is a HS Sr. and for a variety of reasons his school has one photographer take all Sr. pictures which will be in the yearbook and in the pictures of each class they have around the school. We could pick and choose what we wanted and order via packages or a-la-carte plus the pictures were posted online so they were easy to review. They were easy to work with & we ended up ordering a CD containing all the pictures so we could order the prints anywhere. Needless to say, Target did not have any advertisements on the back when we got the pics back. ;)

Nice. I had sauteed chicken with a tarragon-caper sauce with spinach and a baked potato for my dinner tonight.

Evening, Lodge. My biscotti turned out excellent. :)

I knew that it would take me longer to get through my taxes this year, since I did a bunch more buying and selling of stock and bought a freaking house, but ****, that took forever. I might never sell a stock again. But on the bright side, I made an average of 250% profit on the stock that I sold last year. :D

Ramen noodles at 11:11 pm for this kid for dinner. Been straight through since 4pm. However, I'm going to the mountain tomorrow since it is really a Monday schedule at school tomorrow (Weird way they do things for our days off... we miss each individual day 1 time a semester, so all classes get a fair shake). I love having Monday's off :)

Try getting one of those special lights. They're supposed to be very effective.

I am considering lying under my plant grow lights :p

I've never understood how the season can affect peoples' moods. I should be depressed because its cold and there's snow? I don't think so,
They wonder about Vit D deficiency with lack of sun.

Well I survived the reduction. So good to know I have something to do on weekdays still.
w00t!

Yeah, every time you sell a stock in a taxable account, you have to log that transaction's net profit / loss on your tax return. Owning a house doesn't add *too* much time to the return - you're just entering info from a 1098 (mortgage interest / property taxes) in that case.

What will seriously throw your tax return into cluster**** territory is if you take in a roommate. Doing that will mean filling out a schedule E and having to figure out how much you paid in utilities and other such things for the year - and multiplying those amounts by the percentage of your place that you rented and the percentage of the year you rented it. Giant pain in the ****ing ***.

Morning!

Another long day today as I wait to hear if any co-workers I like are getting the axe.
