Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 98: Favorite Alter Ego

Well, I printed my boarding passes. In about 27 hours I won't be able to see my breath unless I walk into a beer cooler in Ft. Lauderdale :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 98: Favorite Alter Ego

Just got back from the doc's. I was 15 min early and he took me right away (does that ever happen?). Took one look at my problem and said "ew... that doesn't look good. I want you to see a surgeon right away!" A real confidence booster... :(

After recovering from that shock, I now have to see a surgeon at 2:30 in the city. To say I'm a little nervous would be an understatement! This all started because I thought I had the flu... :(

Yikes! Well, hopefully whatever it is will be taken care of because you made the decision to go see your doctor. And if it hadn't been for your flu-like symptons, you may not have caught it soon enough. Or something. Good luck with that appointment!!! We're all thinking of you.

Eck! Best wishes for everything Mark, hope everything ends up on the mend soon.

-guilty of meeting Mark back at Q last fall, therefore knowing he wasn't a recent grad;)

Just found out one of my 2 hour labs is getting moved from Thursday night to Tuesday morning (adding another section to lower class size). This means I will be done for the week Thursdays at noon, and be done until Monday at noon. Yep, 4 day weekends baby!

Am I the only lodgonian who isn't sick right now? Get well soon everybody

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 98: Favorite Alter Ego

My plans for this evening fell through, which is sad on the one hand because I don't get to see my friend, J, but good because I have more time to do stuff on my to do list - or sit around and watch Bones and look at my to do list.

I've been practically bathing in Purell and avoiding anything that could throw my back out since I want to be comfortable on this trip.

/knocks on wood :o

Awesomeness. Comcrap doesn't even tell their techs what the issue is before sending them out. I'd have thought they'd at least have a sentence or brief paragraph to know what to expect. Ridiculous.

Today is one of those days where a bunch of little annoyances are really adding up.

But at least I'm healthy. Things could always be much, much worse.

I hope everyone's day (and health) starts getting better.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 98: Favorite Alter Ego

All this talk about DSL's has gotten me wondering. Why wouldn'nt someone like DSL's?

I'm in perfect health that the moment.
Well it is "slower" but thats overrated in that the vast majority of the time, you're no where near hitting the cap. The nice thing about DSL vs Cable is that if working probably, you are assigned your 1.5 mbps internet and its yours, Cable on the other hand says it has a maximum speed of 7 mbps (example) but you are sharing that maximum with others in your neighborhood. If the cable company is cheap, you might be sharing that with a whole apartment building so if everyone else is trying to watch a netflix streaming movie or hulu, you can get into trouble.

If it was really bad, they would have sent you to the hospital. The fact that they left it up to you indicates it isn't that bad...or your doctor just doesn't care about you :p

FTR - one of the IT guys (uber geek) at work says that Cable may be faster, but DSL wins the race. I can only get DSL where I live, and use it for gaming (MW2 and other online games) and only notice slow downs when my wife is doing a bunch of emails with big attachments or is streaming video.
I have been known to turn off the wireless and claim it's "broken" while playing MW2. I have an ethernet line run right to my Xbox. So far, she's none the wiser

Hahahahahahaha. That's Comcast.

At the old apartment, there were some pinched cables from when they came out on a prior service call that were causing intermittent outages. The tech comes out, opens the box (thus un-pinching the cable), runs the diagnostics, finds everything is okay, and proceeds to slam the box shut re-pinching the cables.
