Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 97: ways to train a dragon

Unfortunately won't be up in 315 land to see SLU play Toothpaste U and that hated Big Red team this weekend, but will be going skiing the next 2, maybe 3 days depending on if I feel like driving it or not.

Thansk for the rep ASAAG, it takes me a while to spread rep and I will get you back. No TV outlet for me to watch tonights game against BC, I will pull out the trusty transister radio and listen to it though. Have a good weekend.

TBF, Take your time with passing around rep. I haven't decided whether to try and catch one of the CC-Wisc games in person in the Springs or not. I may go to one of the games or have a quiet weekend at home with my wife.

I saw BC play twice earlier this month when Denver held its holiday event. Saint Lawrence came back late in the game with an impressive rally and beat the Eagles 5-2, with an empty-netter. The next night Denver overcame 2-0 and 3-1 third period deficits with four, third-period goals to beat BC 4-3. Needless to say Jerry York's teams haven't let too many two-goal leads slip through their hands on back-to-back nights in recent years. I'm sure the Maines will be in for a battle tonight.

I'm guessing Maine can earn at least a split this weekend as PC [tomorrow's opponent] has lost five or six in a row. Enjoy your weekend. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 97: ways to train a dragon

In my experience, "checking" mainly turns into slashing penalties that don't get called. A lot of players are out of shape and wind up using their brooms to try and keep up. Charging happens a lot too.

Fortunately, the worst 'injury' I ever had was getting accidentally butt-ended in the stomach. I've certainly witnessed worse.

I once saw someone but-end himself on the boards, that was classic.

When I got my concussion I was apparently down on the ice for a couple of minutes. When I final around I couldn't make it off the ice with out substantial help and falling a few more times.

The funniest part was going to the Broomball committee meeting afterward and explaining why I was so out of it.

Split would be great, Maine's top goalie, Scott Darling, will be out 2-4 weeks with sprained MCL. Neither backup goalie inspires a lot of conficence. Have fun skiing.:)

Afternoon Loj. Chinese buffet for lunch. Lavatory detonation in 3....2.....1.....

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 97: ways to train a dragon

Former Denver player, Tyler Bozak, scored his first NHL goal last night playing on Toronto's top line with Phil Kessel. Bozak played, what amounted to, 1 1/2 seasons with the Pioneers before signing with the Maple Leafs after the conclusion of the 2008-2009 season as an undrafted free agent. Bozak had a terrific freshman year and was on his way to a solid sophomore year before suffering an injury which kept him out for about half Denver's game last season.

Here's a youtube video of his goal last night. The second slow motion replay shows Bozak slipping the puck between the defenseman's skates, taking control of the puck after it slides past the d-man and then firing it past the goalie. A nice effort.

man... I need a nap so bad right now... that whole Conan stuff had me up late finding out what was going on next

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 97: ways to train a dragon

.

Good luck! :)

Thanks

I'll watch for you on TV. You'll be the one in the White Gophers jersey, right?

Have fun!

:D :p

The Gopher jersey doesn't make appearances at Vikings games. Look for the guy and girl wearing matching purple AP jerseys. I'm sure we'll be the only two people at the game with them. :D

It's not the Dahm sisters is it?

How did you know? Erica was the most presuasive so she's the one who won out for Sunday. Nicole and Jaclyn are going to have to set up their game to win me away from Erica.

Speaking of this I was talking to Audra the other day about traveling and the places she would recommend. And to think, people think Playmates are only good for eye candy. Not that I mind the way she looks.

Hey that's me! Well except I havent told you that I am interested in you and I am not going to the vikings game.
Maybe I should just bring back up my lack of pants.

Who are you again?

His monologue last night was classic. NBC's probably torn...they're getting great ratings because people are tuning in to hear what he'll say, but Conan & Co. are ripping the NBC execs, Leno and the network itself. How long are they going to let him go on with this?

By the way, check the link in the TV thread for a great bargain!

Check my post in the TV thread. There is ZERO chance Conan stays on after this week if he continues to slam NBC.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 97: ways to train a dragon

Is it difficut getting a blow up doll through Dome security? :D

Apparently not for you.

Thankfully it didn't take security long to arrest speedo man after he started playing with his "date" at the last game.

On the postive side you did get the Vikings so angry from having to see this that they took out their anger on the Giants and blew them out (pun intended). So thanks but next time please find a way to fire up the Vikings that involves more clothes and leave the blow up doll at home.

I did that in ice hockey a few years ago. Misjudged my distance, butt-ended myself in the gut, broke my stick. I don't think anyone really noticed, but still... :( :o

I'm so *ing glad it's the weekend. And, it may sound terrible, but I'm glad UNH only has one game this weekend, and it's 10 minutes from my house (I don't really like anything else about the game there - particularly not the fact that we have to sit down the entire game, and are stuck up in the balcony).

I should do some cleaning, and probably cook dinner, but I don't feel like doing any of that. Instead, I'm gonna go play some video games and listen to some music.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 97: ways to train a dragon

Avenue Q is awesome.

This is your first commando? Whenever I get a massage, I get one naked. The point is to be totally natural and relaxed - why would I wear anything? Most of the people I know who get them also go naked...
At our place, they prefer people to keep their underwear on. Its useful with tucking in around. Of course, later on in my practice I could just have people go full monty, but some people might just not want to go there, and well, there's some people that you wouldn't want them to go that far either. The idea of Gmann in the Stars and Stripes speedo is bad enough, would you really want him wearing less? :p

They might just let him run a little longer til the Olympics. I think they would take the rep hit they're taking while getting the Ad revenue from the additional eyeballs they're pulling in, and then let the public forget about Conan during the Olympics.
Still say that Jay should do the Honorable thing and step down. Only thing he can really do about this right now is make fun of himself about the situation.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 97: ways to train a dragon

I personally suffered what I am almost sure was a mild concussion.

Hey, this could be the next poll: What have you injured in broomball? :D

I broke a finger playing broomball at BU. Scrum in the corner, no progress getting made, and a guy from the other team ran up and did a flying samurai chop to break up the cluster of sticks. (He was trying to be funny, not being a punk.) But his stick came down right onto my hand, smashing my finger between his stick and mine. Now I got this nice, crooked finger. Good times!
