Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 97: ways to train a dragon

I hope lots of LODGEONIANS have the chance to see their favorite team in action, in person this weekend. Denver has an open weekend in its schedule before taking on Wisconsin, NoDak and Minnesota in six of its next eight games--a portion of its schedule I think will demonstrate whether or not the Pioneers are legitimate NCAA title contenders this season.

Mrs. Shot and I will be in Denver for the weekend with various obligations and festive distractions to keep us occupied before heading for three consecutive ski weekends in Summit and Eagle counties. [We catch a break in DU's schedule as during those three weekends the Pioneers play only one home game--on a Friday night against Mercyhurst, currently in 1st place in the AHA by one point over RIT, but having played four more games than RIT. We'll give our tickets to some family members for that game]. My wife and I are hoping some big snowstorms hit the High Country in Colorado as thus far the ski season has been particularly lacking in snowfall.

Good luck to your team this weekend and I hope you have the chance to rest, relax and recreate. Enjoy your weekend. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 97: ways to train a dragon

Hi kids, happy Friday. Feeling a bit better. Am going to try and make it to Providence for BU's game tonight. Wearing my red, drove in, brought my ticket. But if I feel like crap later this afternoon, I may just go home. The game is on TV. But I'm pushing myself to go and root since ASaaG refused to help me out in rooting for BU this weekend (well, tonight). So, if I have a relapse, it's on you ASaaG. :p

Please see your rep. ;)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 97: ways to train a dragon

I am now the most experienced SQE (supplier quality engineer) at my company. I'm also the 2nd youngest person in the building.

When I first co-oped here (6 years ago) there were 5 SQEs. There were 4 when I got my full time job. 2 years ago we were down to 3.5 (one was doing 2 job roles). For a year now we've been down to 3. The best out of the 3 of us took the voluntary lay-off and is leaving today. I no longer have a Michigan Engineering alum to share stories with, leave Dilbert cartoons on each others' desks, talk to about football, and get advice from. :(

This place is going to be interesting next week.

Now down to 2 SQEs. I'm currently responsible for 87 suppliers and 1,211 active parts. I have a feeling next week may find me responsible for every mechanical component in our machines. And maybe I'll still get to keep optics and a bunch of other misc. junk.

Yeaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Oh, and write more checks. :D

So apparently Fridays are Jeans day in the corporate office. No one told me, so I am here without pants.

Things have picked up for me since I've been back home. Three women have recently told me they're interested in me. The best part is each of them is in their early to mid 30's, is good looking and wait for it

likes sports.

I'm going to the Vikings game on Sunday with one of them. I firgured going with all three might have been too much of a good thing. :D

You don't get more pay, but you get a shiny new title...and more responsibility!

That's a great time to ask for a raise.

Thansk for the rep ASAAG, it takes me a while to spread rep and I will get you back. No TV outlet for me to watch tonights game against BC, I will pull out the trusty transister radio and listen to it though. Have a good weekend.

Broomball is serious business. Well it's 220 teams and I would say about 1500 or so students play the game. You're also allowed to check unlike most other broomball leagues.

In my experience, "checking" mainly turns into slashing penalties that don't get called. A lot of players are out of shape and wind up using their brooms to try and keep up. Charging happens a lot too.

Fortunately, the worst 'injury' I ever had was getting accidentally butt-ended in the stomach. I've certainly witnessed worse.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 97: ways to train a dragon

So do you like jeans? Are they not pants?
Well if I have to wear pants, I would rather wear jeans. But with the dress, I get to wear kick a55 boots!!! Althought the corporate dressdown day might be tough for me, since I am now in Business Developement and you never know if I have to popout of the office and do the "hey buy our product" song and dance.
It is a much easier song and dance in boots, that are of course kick a55

Hey that's me! Well except I havent told you that I am interested in you and I am not going to the vikings game.
Maybe I should just bring back up my lack of pants.

HAHA, well I only have been at this new job for 4 days, might be too soon to ask for a raise.

She may get a raise automatically in that case. No need to ask for it. Oh, wait, that might be a rise, not a raise.
