Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 95: A USCHO Retrospective
I still remember the first test I took in college. It was in physics. In high school, physics was easy (not trying to brag just stating a fact) but that test sure wasn't. After bombing this first test I was depressed for awhile and for the first time I doubted if I was smart and could do it. Looking back it was one of the best things that could have happened. It served as a wake up call, that I was going to have to work and study a lot harder in college. Bombing this test served as motivation. I was determined to suceed. I did well in college after that until my last full quarter at which point I started slacking off because I knew I was going to reach the finish line even if I coasted. College definitely proved to me that hard work does pay off.
When something doesn't go well in your life you have two choices you can let it get you down (which we all do at times including myself) or use it as motivation to do better the next time and there always is a next time. Life constantly challenges you.
The only time you truly lose in life is when you give up.
I'm not trying to preach to you or act like I know it all. I'm just giving you my thoughts and trying to help. I still deal with being lazy at times. Who doesn't? Plus I'm still learning things about myself and life. I don't think anybody ever knows it all.
But I do know that life is a constant journey of good and bad so you might as well enjoy the good and learn from the bad.
I do have one question for you. Do you want to serve pasties in the UP for the rest of your life? I have no doubt you're capable of so much more. It's up to you.
Yup, ctf's on ac pro. Like, quite bad ac pro.
Annnd, in reality, it wasn't really too much party not enough study. It was more too much freshman laziness and thinking I'd still get by. I've now learned that going to class is something that's a good idea. As is doing your homework. And showing up for quizzes. Etc.
This semester, I'm taking easy classes, so I should be good to go, as long as I buckle down and get sh*t done.
