Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 95: A USCHO Retrospective

Howdy Folks

Gotta go move snow, looks like quite a bit out there so that pretty much sucks.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 95: A USCHO Retrospective

No snow here, but it is 17 deg and feels like -6 deg. That's cold for this side of the Mason Dixon Line.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 95: A USCHO Retrospective

Ok I know this is old news, but I was away for a couple of days.
BUT WHAT THE HECK!!! LOST TO BENTLY!!!!!
I almost liked it better when UMass just out and out sucked. At least then, I learned to expect nothing and wasnt pleasantly suprised when we won. But this play some really good hockey in the first half of the season, and then signing up friggen ice capades is getting old!!!

Ok sorry to bring hockey talk into the lodge, I just needed to get that off my chest.

One week till I get in the car and head towards chicago.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 95: A USCHO Retrospective

There is no escape Ralph! :) Happy Birthday! And the rest of you - go post in his thread!!!!

It's really snowing here now. It wasn't so bad yesterday. I knew I should have gone food shopping yesterday. I figured it would be the light snow today but it's almost blizzard-like out there now. Crap. Hopefully it will end soon so I can dig out my car.

happy birthday FRalph!!

(how sad, les hates you!!!!     )
:p

I think that it would just require math to remember, and I wasn't dropping hints like I did in the past. Come to think of it, however, 'ewe started last year's thread. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 95: A USCHO Retrospective

Back inside from plowing, 3 hrs to move the snow. My 57 Ford needs power steering especially with a F'ed up shoulder. We would have had 2 feet if it hadn't turned to rain. Man, that stuff is heavy

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 95: A USCHO Retrospective

I escaped having a birthday thread on Saturday. Does that mean that I am not a year older? :D

A bit surprising considering that last-year's thread http://board.uscho.com/showthread.php?t=81272 passed 1000 posts.

No hints and no listing = les missing the boat. That and a few distractions in the last week.:o :(

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 95: A USCHO Retrospective

got back from grocery shopping... 20 degrees out, 30 mph winds... and since I'm nestled between large 3-8 story buildings I'm getting canyon gusts at 40-50 mph.

edit: it easily feels colder than when it was -11 in Storrs last winter.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 95: A USCHO Retrospective

A most entertaining Denver hockey tournament over the weekend. All four teams showed some talent and grit. Saint Lawrence overcame a two goal deficit to beat BC 5-2 [with an empty-netter]. Neb-O won a shootout yesterday against the Saints.

Denver spotted BC leads of 2-0 and 3-1 before pouring in four, third period goals to win 4-3 in an absolutely terrific game. I can only imagine that coach Jerry York is wondering when the last time was a BC team lost consecutive games in which it held two goal leads.

Rhett Rakhshani was immense for the Pioneers with four goals two assiusts six points and a well deserved MVP award at tournament's end. DU was impressive with 7-0 and 4-3 wins.

I hope Denver doesn't sleepwalk when Alaska-Anchorage comes to town next weekend. Great start to the second half of the schedule for Denver.:)

Yeah, you are going to really want Power steering right now.

Think the worst of my cold is over, just got to get all of the gunk out of my chest and nose. But I don't have any of the chills that I had earlier.

If there's a lot that's really close to TCF, it's not the ramp of which GE speaks (assuming he's talking about an actual ramp and not a lot). GE's ramp is at 4th St & SE 17th Ave - across the street from a set of tennis courts that are right next to Ridder, and then comes Mariucci. If he's talking about a lot, then it could be the same.

As an aside, I happened to be at the game tonight, too. HockeyBum ended up receiving a free set of tickets and offered me one. I gladly drove.

Our lot (not ramp) is directly across 4th street from Ridder. The lot is between University Ave. and 4th street & between 18th Ave & William's Arena. It's Rock Star parking. :)

My dad would fly from Baltimore/DC area, where the temp would be ~20 or 30 degrees, back to MSP, where the temp was ~-5 to -10, and it would feel warmer in MSP. Amazing he effect moisture in the air has.

Driving to Syracuse in a couple hours, staying the night in a hotel, then flying out at 0600 or later tomorrow morning, depending on delays and junk. Layovers in JFK and Hotlanta, then on to Fort Myers, FL for the week until Thursday night. It's going to be warmer than here, but not typical Florida weather, thats for sure.
