Merry Christmas

The carnage is over, presents were opened, a nap is now needed:D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 94: Holidays, tournaments, presents and snow!

You know I'd normally go to bat for people in a situation like this.... but there's that little red dot in my recent rep profile... so I'll pass. Enjoy the flogging.

Well, at least he's not Flogging Molly. ;) :p

I can't help but just laugh at this whole situation and how serious people take things.
Take for example, one of my nicknames. My last name's Holmstrom. My best friend calls me Ho-Strom. Personally, I find it quite amusing, but you have to just relax and not let it get to you.

Anyways, I was woken up at 6 AM by my little brother who had been up since 3. (seriously) Keep in mind I didn't fall asleep until 2:30 or 3. Yeah.

Got a new 12 cell battery for the laptop, so now hopefully it'll last longer than 40 minutes.

Merry Christmas Everyone! :)

Merry Christmas!

Have not crawled out of bed yet, but will do so shortly. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 94: Holidays, tournaments, presents and snow!

For the first time in 20 years I wasn't required to read this to the kids. :(
So I figured I'd share it with tLodge... ;)

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads;
And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer,
With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;
"Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! on Cupid! on, Donder and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky,
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.
His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow;
The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook, when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly.
He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,

"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night."

They used to put this on the NPR station I listened to but now they have some talk show with a lady who has to have Parkinson's because her voice is well, it has weird inflection. Anywho it stunk not to have it to listen to:( So here was good :)

Good Morning wakeful ones!

MERRY CHRISTMAS (or GOOD MORNING) EVERYONE!! friday is here.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 94: Holidays, tournaments, presents and snow!

Good morning to tLodge....

I woke up not feeling well. Horrible headache. One of those kinds that makes your eyes water and you look like you're crying. Also been sneezing and blowing my nose every couple mins. I've had a horrible cold for a few days now, so maybe this is the peak and it'll be over soon?

And sometime in the last few hours, it started to "blizzard" or "storm" according to everyone, but to me it just looks like it's snowing. But interstates are closed and plows are being pulled, so looks like it could be disasterous to be out on the roads.

Little brother tried waking me up at 7:30 to open stockings. But then he started playing his new Wii and will be occupied till our other brother decides to wake up, which should be soon now that I've got the Christmas music going. :p

Anyways, I hope everyone has a great Christmas! Safe travels to those in the area! I'll be posting today, seeing that I'll probably be stuck in the house most of the day.

Thanks. Merry Chistmas to you. :)

You've seen DC's Chinatown. I don't think that I would trust most of those places. :D

I wandered down to the Mall, and as I knew the Smithsonian is closed today -- the only time all year. Surprisingly, the US Botanic Gardens was open. Had I known that they would be open today, I wouldn't have gone to their Holiday exhibit a few weeks ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uz_9joAe3jw
