Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 94: Holidays, tournaments, presents and snow!

Merry Christmas Lodge!!

Greetings from my parents' 1998 Dell desktop, that works better than my POS 2009 Dell laptop!

Hope everyone is enjoying their day! And for those not celebrating - hey, it's Friday!!! Enjoy!!! :) On my way momentarily to my brother's house for fodd, drinks, and one more present!

For those of you suffering thru this awful storm - take care and stay safe.

Don't eat too much of that fodd. ;)

You've seen DC's Chinatown. I don't think that I would trust most of those places. :D

Some of them must be safe?, there was a Vietnamese place where a chef was making noodles in the front window of the restaurant, the noodles looked good, the place looked shaky at best . He had quite a crowd watching him though.

I have seen that place and agree with your statement. I have been to a couple of Thai places that aren't bad.

What is it about family that makes you test your sanity... ugh... there's nothing particularly stridently straining but the personality quirks of my sister and father are driving me nuts (and I know it goes the other way too).

Can't they act normal for 24 hours?

Ignore them for 24 hours ;) :D

Ugh... my sister will come in... demand we watch whatever movies or TV shows she decides while I'm perfectly satisfied and relaxed with whatever's on... she eventually gets my father or mother to relent or gets me to relent by making me admit that I'm splitting time on my laptop... she then will go into these infantile tacts where she breaks into some 10 year old type behavior that she thinks is funny while lapsing into this non-existant hybrid NoDak/Minnesotan (Fargo) accent.

Every time i come home I'm ready to leave at the end. There's no overarching dilemma like say gmann's situation or anything else like that... I'd just like some time spent at home trying to relax instead of avoiding the latest thing to fray my nerves.

Yeah, I know family can be difficult at times. I have some relatives I'm ready to leave too after a few hours. Luckily they don't tend to hang around my parent's house.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 94: Holidays, tournaments, presents and snow!

Just got a text from Twitch, he's stuck at O'hair yet. He might get a flight at 1 or a fight out to MBS at 8. Suckage!! :(

Holy cripes, that's miserable. What, 24 and some hours now?

Lucky they weren't Japanese noodles, or Twitch would have been even more unhappy not to be there. ;)

Merry Christmas, Lodge (and happy Friday too)!

"Finally home 28 hours total from cheyenne to home"

Actually, he texted me a little while ago and I guess he did get on the 1 oclock flight. He's back home in Saggy. Said it took him 28 hours or so to get home. :p

I kinda think I could have driven that faster.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 94: Holidays, tournaments, presents and snow!

Yeah, even with the nasty weather, probably could have driven that in about the same time. It is pretty much a straight shot to Chicago for him once he's on I-80. Load the car up early, take a nap and then load him up on energy drinks and he would have been good to go. Weather got nasty, just find a semi to tuck in behind and let him break drifts up for you.

Twitch is lucky he wasn't on flight 253 into Detroit, sounds like a whack job got something very combustible onto a plane, scary stuff for the passengers

I just read about that. I thought security in Europe was much tighter than here?
