Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 92: Let's Keep SiouxTechie Out

I cannot believe the stupidity level of some people sometimes. You can't just leave your lane whenever you want, especially to take a phone call 15 minutes before you're supposed to leave. The word "babysitter" is not in my job description...

On the bright side, I didn't get called racist...so I got that goin' for me, which is nice. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 92: Let's Keep SiouxTechie Out

If they do have any it would be near the spices. Just remember that any of the liquid food colorings are going to have glycerol in them and that might alter the flavor of the frosting or promote cracking.

Let me tell you a little about this IGA. There are two registers and four grocery aisles. Believe me when I say that I'm not sure if they will even have it, haha.

The frosting is just powdered sugar, butter, milk, and food coloring. My grandma and I have been doing it this way ever since I can remember, and her long before I was a thought. I've never noticed a difference in taste, though that's interesting. Maybe it happens and I have no clue. Cracking has never been a problem though.

Good mornin' to tLodge! ;)

Woke up to about 2" of snow here in 203-land. Supposed to change over to all rain within the next couple of hours... ought to make for a wonderful commute. :( Can't wait to witness all the idiots on the road this morning.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 92: Let's Keep SiouxTechie Out

Good Morning, MEUSA! :)

Good Morning to the rest of tLodge! :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 92: Let's Keep SiouxTechie Out

Damm, it's raining hard here in 202-land. Thankfully this isn't snow.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 92: Let's Keep SiouxTechie Out

It's not snowing hard but the wind is blowing it all around. Made driving home from Canada an adventure. Luckily visibility on the Bridge was good... now if only it hadn't taken me 30 minutes of waiting to get through customs

So, tomorrow is cookie baking day. I'm making Swedish rolled cookies to cut out and ice. Only problem is, when I was at the store (without my list, of course), I forgot to buy food coloring to color the icing with. Bleh. I suppose I'll have to see if the IGA 10 minutes from here has it (they hardly have anything, and what they do have is crazy expensive), or hope that the weather isn't TOO bad so I can drive into the Soo to get it. I will NOT have plain white frosting on my cookies! :D
What I am doing too. Sugar cookies today. Peparkauka on Saturday.

In a pinch you can use colored baking sugar mixed in with a bit of the milk to disolve first. We don't ice- we decorate- paint with egg wash and then sprinkles, a slice of almond or colored sugar. Starting very late this yr but I have next week off :D

Good morning boys!

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!! wobbly and wet snowy wednesday.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 92: Let's Keep SiouxTechie Out

Snowing like yeehha! here. Getting the end part of what you all were talking about the last few days. Rain starting mid-morning to wash it all away.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 92: Let's Keep SiouxTechie Out

I don't anonymously neg rep people. If I neg rep, I always sign them as Rimbaud.
Should I choose to leave it anonymously, I leave clues in the thread to make them play detective. I started it when people thought that I was calling them a clown after ending the rep with "- Clown" in addition to the negative rep. Idiots.

Adult daycare called to cancel today because of the weather. I can think of no better way to get these old people exercise than to force them to be spry enough to walk to and from vehicles through this weather.

It also sucks because I absolutely have to be in the office today. It's going to take a while.

Mr just took off to drive L'il to school as he was at the bus stop for the last 30 minutes and no bus. School started 15 minutes ago. The real tragedy is that they made choc chip cookies in Consumer class yest and he has that 1st period. He is not happy. All the cookies are going to be gone:mad:

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 92: Let's Keep SiouxTechie Out

I woke up early for nothing, stupid schools being closed there isn't even that much snow. It does give me an opportunity to clear the driveway off properly.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 92: Let's Keep SiouxTechie Out

s'upp y'all..

my driveway is plowed in... drive will be awful because peeps can't drive. ugh.:(

He would of made it if he had just walked. ;)

Its 11 right now, but the wind chill makes its feel like -11. So yeah, I'll go ahead and enjoy working at home today.

Rest of today doesn't look much better...

Snow and widespread blowing snow before 3pm, then areas of blowing snow and a chance of snow after 3pm. High near 11. Wind chill values between -9 and -14. Blustery, with a north northwest wind between 21 and 28 mph, with gusts as high as 37 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

It is Chickens Birthday today. Happy Birthday Chickens!!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 92: Let's Keep SiouxTechie Out

Good morning Lodge.

Not much snow here in 320land. The temp is hovering around zero and with wind chill it's about -22 below zero.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 92: Let's Keep SiouxTechie Out

Made it to work five minutes later than usual. heading away from the storm made all the difference. Looking over at the eastbound lane of 94, some of those people won't make it to work before quitting time. All in all, the roads weren't as bad as I anticipated. Of course, having a nice big 4X4 with 240 pounds of rock salt in the box makes it a little more bearable :D

But don't you have to go the other way to go home?

Reverse commute. Although there's always a fair amount of traffic heading into the cities, it's nothing like rush hour. Plus, if there's an incident or a big slow up, I can get off the freeway and take the country back roads, assuming it's not a blizzard. In a blizzard like this one, I'll stay on the freeway, just because if something were to happen, They'd find me before spring ;)

But you wrote that those going the other way won't get to where they are going before quitting time, so they will interfere with your trip home. :D
