Just wanted to say thank you to the anonymous moron who neg repped me. Made my day a lot better.
Refilled!

Evening, Lodge. Work Christmas party tonight; walked away with a new stone cutting board and a few bags of nice coffee.

She is far from having a brilliant future, she only has much to be proud of at this point.

The much revamped broomball team that I joined last year won our game (winless last season, and last week we got blown out 7-0) tonight 2-1. I dunno what happened, but last week was like mites compared to tonights varsity team, two completely different teams. Didn't get on the scoresheet, but had some great shifts with some decent chances.

evening Lodge...as I was driving home tonight in -2 degree Denver weather, I heard a squeal from the engine. It got progressively louder and then my car suddenly lurched and the service engine soon light came on. I was unable to go any faster than 40 miles an hour. All this about 15 miles from home. I managed to putter it to my dealership where Quiz met with me. We think it's a belt that I was going to replace soon, but due to the unusually cold weather we've had here, I think it gave out on me early.

I'm glad I made it...that was a little nerve-racking.

If you're lucky it's a belt.

went to the drs, have a mri tomorrow at 7.45, hopefully before the snow hits. my shoulder hurts like hell, the doc thinks I ruptured my right bicep:eek: .
Sure its not one of the tendons that attaches into your shoulder from the Bicep??

And the snow is now on the ground here. Next it's going to rain, then snow again. 13 degrees tomorrow night, and winds could hit 50 mph. Yippie.
Yeah, I hear that. Dad just got home and said that he counted about 8 cars off in the ditch tonight, including one that went off by that railroad bridge east of Saline on 12. That had to been a scary as hell ride going down that embankment there and landing in that marsh area there.

Got everything set now for this weekend. Going to Bama! :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 92: Let's Keep SiouxTechie Out

why, what else could that be?

Transmission issue is what it sounds like to me. Lots of cars have a "limp-home" mode in case of transmission faults, where you're limited to about 40 mph. I don't know of anything similar for a belt issue - usually the car just stops running (or overheats and stops more permanently.)

so my transmission is shot then?

I put my car in a ditch less than half a mile away from that a few years ago. Luckily it was only a 6-10 ft drop, and the underbrush stopped me after I narrowly split a mailbox and a pretty big tree.

Yeah, bet both you and the guy that did that tonight both needed clean underwear. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 92: Let's Keep SiouxTechie Out

It's not snowing hard but the wind is blowing it all around. Made driving home from Canada an adventure. Luckily visibility on the Bridge was good... now if only it hadn't taken me 30 minutes of waiting to get through customs

So, tomorrow is cookie baking day. I'm making Swedish rolled cookies to cut out and ice. Only problem is, when I was at the store (without my list, of course), I forgot to buy food coloring to color the icing with. Bleh. I suppose I'll have to see if the IGA 10 minutes from here has it (they hardly have anything, and what they do have is crazy expensive), or hope that the weather isn't TOO bad so I can drive into the Soo to get it. I will NOT have plain white frosting on my cookies! :D

If they do have any it would be near the spices. Just remember that any of the liquid food colorings are going to have glycerol in them and that might alter the flavor of the frosting or promote cracking.
