Happy Pilgrim Memorial Day everybody!

Hanging out with my family, Aunt, Uncle and 3 little cousins. Couple the mayhem of the 3 cousins with their dog and my dog going bonkers, and this house is crazy.

Drunk last night, and probably doing the same in the next few nights is making this break even better.

Anybody need any food:D The spread here could have fed 30 people easily and there was only 12 of us. It was quite tasty, my smoked turkey was slightly overcooked, the brined and roasted turkey was awesome. I still have the better part of 3 pies:D , most of my beer is gone but have no fear Tanqueray is in the cupboard

We were supposed to only have a small gathering of 6 but it ended up being 12! :eek: There's just enough of the important left overs to provide a late night snack and lunch tomorrow! Plenty of dessert remains: pies, cookies, homemade PB&J bars.

The table has been cleared, the women are gabbing, I can hardly get off the couch, and the Lions have lost! Another typical Thanksgiving winds down... :D

Next year I'm going to make my own dinner (unless I end up at home)... I figure its gotta be better than what I had today. I know I can make corn (microwave), I can make a turkey (nearly idiot proof), stuffing can be done on the burners (Stove top brand), and a pie is nearly an idiots task with a proper shell and a good package of instant pudding and whipped cream. The only element of difficulty would be the mashed potatoes.

After the Packers' slightly sloppy yet still lovely victory, I'm all set for a delicious dinner. We've got a pretty small house, but it's always fun to all be together again. I'm the oldest of all of the grandkids on my mom's side, so I get to deal with my 4 & 8 year old brothers, and 7 & 9 year old male cousins, plus my puppy (who's been cuddling all day, so is bound to be a hellion).
Other than that, it'll be me, my parents, my nana, my grandma and grandpa, and two uncles.
The turkey smells amazing; can't wait! :)

Yawn. Not much going on today - maybe the lady and I will catch a movie tonight, but it might just be nap time now.

Learn, it ain't rocket science. Lots of info on the web and cooking for yourself is far healthier than processed food from a box. Women like it also:D

I come from the "set it and forget it" school of life... if it can't be done automatically it isn't worth doing :D

edit: for the most part I cook things for myself except for work (will work on that) and when I fall out of the mood for certain things. Need cooking tools... I'll work on that after xmas.

still, mashed potatoes are as idiot proof as you can get. 1. boil potatoes 2. mash potatoes 3. add butter and milk until potatoes are at a consistancy of your liking

I'll give a try next year. Bottom line is that i think I can do better for myself.

Hi there gang. Happy Thanksgiving! Went to the parade this morning. We were in our spot about 6:15am. In the actual cross street of W. 64th St. There were already so many people already in place. We were lucky to get that spot. Naturally, many people filled in behind us. Including some kids who thought they could just step all over our blanket and get right up to the barrier where we were. I did my best to thwart them. If these people want their kids to be able to see, then they need to get there MUCH earlier and teach their kids to respect people that did get there early.

I'm sitting here watching The Brady Bunch. It's the three part episode where they go to the Grand Canyon!! I'm also waiting for a new hair dryer. The one in the room doesn't work. This hotel is pretty crappy. Especially for the money I'm paying.

Thats why you should carry a riding crop along with you. That will keep the flithy unwashed snotnosed kids from stomping all over your blanket.

Nope, I've got plenty of food here. Still have about half the bird sitting here, and we haven't even cracked the desserts. Had about half of the dozen deviled eggs that mom made, along with all of the other fixings. Gotta love my mom this year. What secret incrediant did she use to flavor the turkey???
BACON!!!

I feel like a beached whale right now, it was good eats.
