Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 90: This Poll Sucks!!!

Earlier this week I asked people to pray for my best friend's wife [Barbara] in advance of a surgical procedure she was having. I just got off the phone with my friend. He told me the procedure, which was performed earlier this morning, went well, but that Barb's shoulder was in poor condition.

There were bones spurs which needed to be removed and a rotator cuff injury which had to be addressed. Additionally there was a condition affecting Barb's right bicep which needed attention. In short, her right arm/shoulder will be placed in a sling for six weeks and immobilized.

I want to thank everyone who prayed for Barbara and ask that you continue to pray for her on a post-operative basis and as she begins her rehabilitation after the first of the year. Speaking on behalf of my friend and his wife your prayers are greatly appreciated. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 90: This Poll Sucks!!!

Speaking of Quebec, apparently that's where I'm going for Spring Break. To some ski resort type thing. Opinions?

Well, I'm biased because I've taken four trips "out west", but...if you do find yourself sober enough to strap in and go knuckledragging, I hear the weather plays a much greater role in how good things are "out east". Some years the snow is great, other years it can be really lean.

I'd get into perceived terrain differences (there are a lot more "gladed" or treed slopes out east), but from the sound of things you belong on the bunny hill anyway, along with all the other novice boarders learning the fine art of sitting on one's *** in the middle of a run and blocking everyone's path. :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 90: This Poll Sucks!!!

Regarding oatmeal. I love all iterations, but especially Steel Cut oatmeal. It takes a lot longer to cook, but is worth it in the long run. Last winter I had to make one of the breakfasts for our ice fishing group at Lake of the Woods. I brought steel cut oatmeal with various fixings like blueberries, brown sugar and bananas. This group is tough, and was PO'd at me because they wanted eggs and meat. I told them if they agreed to try it, I'd also make two pounds of bacon.

We ate around 8:00 AM, and didn't go in for lunch at all. That stuff will fill you up and then some. We also didn't finish all the bacon I made.

Was Daddy Gonzo also able to get the big boys to eat all their vegatables by aggreeing to take them for ice cream if they did? Was tea served while you were all knitting your favorite stitches? Sounds like a really tough group.

Ice cream? Eff that. If they'd beg for ice cream I'd shove their mealy mouthed faces into some snow.

I bet this year they will be getting plenty of eggs from the Muppet Man. I heard he has a few extras.

No. I'm convince that Dr. Rock is the reason that the board has the ignore feature nobody should have to listen to that. Too bad his students don't have this feature available to them.

I bet he could help Mel with her insomnia.

I can see it now. Get Dr. Rock's speeches on tape. Listen to them for just a couple of minutes and you will fall right asleep. Congratulations Dr. Rock you're the cure for insomnia.

:D :p

Speaking of cake. Now that I'm back home I've been enjoying left over cake from my birthday that I froze. It's called Better then Sex cake. My ex made it. I disagree with the title but it is really good.

Is that the stuff that has about five kinds of chocolate, and is injected with chocolate pudding?

You should have made bacon oatmeal. :D

Steel-cut oatmeal is pretty good - I should make some for breakfast on Sunday, actually.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 90: This Poll Sucks!!!

So many people around Naperville for me to visit and potentially visit!
I have a few friends in Naperville as well from UND.

I've been calling Edina the cake eaters every since I was a kid. Edina was the biggest rival of the high school I went to.
On this week's Brad Miller Time, Lammy asked Andrew MacWilliam where Joe Gleason (Edina native) was from. His answer was "E...dina? It's where cake eaters are from."

Mario's response "It's actually Cakeeaterville."

:D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 90: This Poll Sucks!!!

Which one is that? Edina is like the Gophers in the WCHA, everyone's biggest rival. :p

Well played. Very true.

Apparently your old age is kicking in and your memory is fading. We've talked about this before. I'll give you a hint. I graduated from high school with a certain hockey player who

won Mr. Hockey in the state of Minnesota
played two years for the Gophers
played for the US in the olympics
scored the first ever regular season Wild home goal
played over 500 games in the NHL for the Leafs, Wild, Canucks and Avalance

If you don't know the player and the high school based on these clues

SIEVE SIEVE SIEVE to you
