Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 88: What's in your stash?

OK, Lodgonians, I need some actual advice here.

So, I got a rather interesting message from he who is known as RC. I haven't spoken to him in quite some time, except for a brief encounter on AIM a few weeks ago to confirm a rumor. Anyway, this message was... strange and out of nowhere, and basically a long, drawn out apology for everything and how unhappy he is now. How he worded things was, well, kind of scary sounding. (My roommate said he sounded suicidal... he's always been a bit of a drama queen, but that's not something I want to just brush off...) Anyway, what should I do? Ignore it entirely? Have someone talk to him? Message him back?

If you want to talk to him or find someone he can talk to, that's great, but you have no real responsibility to do anything if you don't want to get involved.

The answer is B) If there is someone else that can call him they should do it. Even drama queens can act on things.Texting & messaging is not the same and is no way to evaluate what is going on. If in doubt call one of his family members (unless they are sestranged) and tell them you think they need to know that he is texting scary stuff and maybe someone should check on him. If he is being a drama queen getting his family involved should nip it in the bud. Don't call friends, that just encourages more drama. If he is really serious his family are the ones that legally can do the most. Everyone is correct when they say you are not responsible but you can still feel awful about something you are not responsible for.

If you do anything, just tell him you accept his apology, you have moved on with your life, and you hope he will do the same. What the others have already said is very true, don't let yourself be guilt-tripped into anything.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 88: What's in your stash?

Just finished off the chicken fajitas I made late last week. Those are going into my rotation in the dinner menu and the Hammer Palacial Estates. I've got enough points on my credit card to order a panini maker. Between that, my Foreman, crock pots, electric skillet and oven, I should be good for a while.

I gotta start making chili for lunch for the rest of the week.
Dinner at Hammer's place!

Evening, Lodge. Tattoo is done; didn't hurt much. Also had my yearly physical today. Other than being told to cut back on the caffeine, the doctor had nothing but good things to say to me. :)

someone else said it, but you aren't at fault for what he does, if he does anything. Offer the number if you feels he needs it...but really, it's not your problem anymore.

If I'm ever on AIM, hit me up and ask about this or just email me from here, I can offer better insight on something like this off these boards.

Mornin' Lodge. ;)

If I didn't have to vote today, I might just stay in bed! Why do I have to be a responsible adult?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 88: What's in your stash?

Good Morning, MEUSA! :)

Good Morning to the rest of tLodge! :)

Of course MEUSA is not a Lodge member, so I shouldn't have said "rest of".

You could move to DC. We only vote in even-numbered years. :)

Since the county, city, and state are all the same, there isn't that much to vote for. We used to vote for some councilmen and school board members in odd years, but they decided to save money by having all terms expire in even-numbered years.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 88: What's in your stash?

Good night, Lodge. I hope that there's still daylight whenever I wake up.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 88: What's in your stash?

Good morning kids. Got up extra early this morning to confirm the arrival of my company's Pres/CEO/Chairman of the Board. He is the keynote speaker at this conference today. Just called to check on the arrival of the jet, which was supposed to land about now. Now not landing till 8:00am. My cell just rang - it was the pilot from the plane telling me the exact same thing. I need to arrange a few folks to greet him when he gets here and now my morning is all crazy cuz of this delay. I coulda slept for another hour!!
