Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 88: What's in your stash?

Thanks! Now I'll return the favor and help you mountain folk out with some ice fishing jargon.
Sometimes, when the fishing is slow, all you can do is sit in the corner and jack your rod.

Seems to work best for perch :)

Jack[ing] your rod? Didn't gmann letter in that all six years he spent in high school?

He's currently with the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL.

He was the right player at the right time for our program.

I am a graduate of the University of Denver and have held season tickets for Pioneers' games for close to forty years. I always root for the Pioneers when they play, but after any college kid from another team graduates [or leaves college early to try his hand in the pro ranks] I always root for the kid to make it to the NHL and have a long and productive career. I enjoy seeing collegiatley trained kids have success in the NHL. Good luck to Cashman and I hope some NHL team at least gives him "a cuppa coffee."

Just finished off the chicken fajitas I made late last week. Those are going into my rotation in the dinner menu and the Hammer Palacial Estates. I've got enough points on my credit card to order a panini maker. Between that, my Foreman, crock pots, electric skillet and oven, I should be good for a while.

I gotta start making chili for lunch for the rest of the week.

So we may get sleet sometime in the next couple days, according to wacky DJ man in my radio. Lovely.

Okay, after looking at the Weather Channel's website, apparently the wacky DJ man in my radio is full of ****.

CC to Ralph.

I know you were having trouble with <code> ignoring spaces after the first one. I forgot to mention you can use the character code:   to create another single space. The more you run together the more white space you will get.

Well said & I could not agree more.

I exchanged some email with Ed T who explained why
Code:
was not working for awhile. It now is working again. So unless they turn it off again, I won't have to use that (thankfully). ANyway, I'll try to remember that if I need it.

Well as long as St. Clooud doesn't play Union again there shouldn't be a problem with [code] being turned off. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 88: What's in your stash?

On another note, my mom has began asking about what I'm going to do after my dad retires from farming. My dad won't ask, because I think he's scared to hear that I don't want to farm. So it has already started, and I'll have to deal with this question for the next 12-15 years....:(
I don't envy you that situation.
So this is what it's like to argue with a 6 year old...
Visiting the lodge is like arguing with a 6 year old? :p :D
You know what sucks? Darkness at 5 o'clock, pretty soon it will be dark by 4 and that will suck more
Yeah, its a real pain.

St Cloud fans just cause all kinds of problems ;) :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 88: What's in your stash?

I'm still surprised none of us got suspended over that. :o

No kidding.

And bbdl: I'd rather have that than the "when are you gonna settle down, start a family" stuff. I think they finally started getting it when I started answering "Whenever. I don't have any sort of plan."

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 88: What's in your stash?

OK, Lodgonians, I need some actual advice here.

So, I got a rather interesting message from he who is known as RC. I haven't spoken to him in quite some time, except for a brief encounter on AIM a few weeks ago to confirm a rumor. Anyway, this message was... strange and out of nowhere, and basically a long, drawn out apology for everything and how unhappy he is now. How he worded things was, well, kind of scary sounding. (My roommate said he sounded suicidal... he's always been a bit of a drama queen, but that's not something I want to just brush off...) Anyway, what should I do? Ignore it entirely? Have someone talk to him? Message him back?

He prob wants you back. I'd maybe say something along the lines of "I'm with FM now, and how you hurt me was too much for me to be friends with you now" or whatever. I'm not good with spontaneous stuff in this vein, but I think you get my drift.

You're a sympathetic person, and I'm sure he knows that, and he's just tugging at the heart strings. Unfortunately, yes, this may be deeper than the face value of his message, but sadly, it's a risk you may have to take. :o :(

no matter what happens, YOU ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACTIONS THAT OTHERS TAKE UPON THEMSELVES!

don't even think for one second that you will be the cause of something he does. if it wasn't you, it would have been because of someone else. the issue is with him, not you.

so you have your own conscience to decide how to go forward, but again - people are responsible for their own actions. don't yet guilt or fear dictate your action.

(and though it's not exactly nice to type it out.... if he does something to himself, or to someone else. better that than to you.)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 88: What's in your stash?

You know you were in marching band for a long time when 8 to 5 is not hours worked in a day but steps on a football field. :o

Haha, I thought this, too! I was actually struggling to think of how that particular term fit in to a non-marching context.
