Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 88: What's in your stash?

1. Removal of bone marrow from pelvic bone. The stem cells are isolated

2. Stem cell implantation. After the marrow is extracted and stem cells are prepared and ready to be applied.

3. Lumbar puncture or direct stem cell implantation to insert the stem cells into the body.

FWIW this will not be done in the United States but Europe. Our country is light years behind in regards to stem cell research.

ddddaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaammmmmm mmmmmmmmnnnnnnn:eek:

hope it works out for y'all..

By my calculations, 13 more hits from the big dogs around here and I will have finally arrived!

Then I'm planning on running down Ralph's post-count record!

Actually most of the procedures are fairly quick and for the most part not very painful in the big scheme of things and most importantly low to very low risk. The most reported issue is a back ache that lasts no longer than 3 days on average in less than 15% of the procedures and a headache that could last a couple hours which was reported in about 16% of the procedures. In fact, it is an out patient process and from start to finish takes about 4 or 5 days.

However, (if he is selected) and stem cell implantation is the preferred method. That procedure involves injecting the stem cell in the region of the brain that will benefit the most. That would require slightly more risk due to it being a surgery and would require a day or up to a three day stay in the hospital if everything went according to plan. However, the reward is much much higher.

Bottom line 70% of the patients for little g's condition showed improvement after stem cell therapy.

The type of improvements reported include: decreased spasticity; better coordination; improved motor function, improved posture stability; better cognition resulting in communication improvements; gaining the ability to sit, stand or even walk unassisted.

Improved speech articulation was observed in 40% of patients. 20% reported a significant decrease or even absence of epileptic seizures following treatment.
This is so amazing. Stupid previous ban of stem cell research here. Hope it works out!
Because if your comment last night, we have spent the whole day discussing pizza, and you are going to have beef stew instead! ;)
I would rather have the beef stew. yum.

Took a shot- and a miss.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 88: What's in your stash?

Little Caesar's, Domino's, Papa Johns, Papa Murphy's, Broadway Pizza (downtown location), Campus Pizza, Village Pizza, Mesa Pizza by the Slice, Cosetta's.
Any suggestions for other places to try? Preferably something closer to Chicago-style or Greek, this thin-crust crap is killing me.
Old Chicago . . . Latuff's
Davanni's . . . Old Chicago . . . Pizza Luce
The Italian Pie Shoppe

There's also The Green Mill.
(re:Chicago pizza: The whole sauce-on-the-top thing still takes getting used to.) (But a Chicago hot dog? That's the way to go. )

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 88: What's in your stash?

What's banned les? Certainly nothing that gmann described.

Take it out of the tLodge, kids!

Relaxing with some leftovers (lemon-pepper pork loin, rice, and peas) and watching Top Chef reunion dinner.

Green Mill doesn't do much for me, reminds me too much of Pizza The Hut. Now that there's a Pizza Luce has a location on Selby we get that and Checkerboard most often.

Random thought: The Wild are painful to watch.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 88: What's in your stash?

Hammer =/= 'bando :confused:

True.

Seems like I posted this a couple minutes ago, but the beef stew turned out fine. The rolls, well, I need to learn to read. If they were in the oven 1 minute more they would have been hockey pucks.

Oh, and if you use my recipe for beef stew, you need to drain the stew before you serve. The meat and vegetables don't absorb the beer.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 88: What's in your stash?

watched The Freshman on encore for the first time in years... forgot how much i enjoyed the movie.:)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 88: What's in your stash?

Actually, I had my camera with me. Didn't even think to take a picture though. Sorry boys.
You suck!!!:p

Great weather for a race! (My mom is taking a few of her runners down for the Michigan Cross Country State Finals at MIS)
It's actually supposed to be decent up here this weekend, too! :)
Always amused me that they hold the CC State Finals at MIS where they do nothing but left turns!! ;)

I've got Hungry Howie's, Jet's, Papa Johns, Little Ceasars and Dominos with 2 miles of my living room. I could hit Jet's with a 7-iron from my back yard.
Bah!! Hometown Pizza is where to go for Pizza. Just don't go to the Midway Market one, gotta go to the Clinton Hometown.
Yay, I'm home! Did that guaranteed stand by thing and made the 12:30 shuttle home. I'm unpacked and now I can run to the dry cleaners instead of waiting till Saturday. My brother is flying in from LA tonight and my mom made her beef stew. I just called to see if there was enough for me so I'm heading there for dinner. I need a homecooked meal, and mom's are usually the best!
.
I agree, nobody can cook better than Mom!!

Huh??? What did I do, I didn't do nuthin!! Honest!! Oh wait, oh, that Monster, ok now..... :o

Very Cool Gmann. Any idea of which Euro country you would be going to? Sounds like you'll be there a while so you would have to figure you would be an Ugly American Tourist there for few days. ;)

Its ok man, Hammer is a Redskin. Clinton HS Redskin.

Is that the one where the father of Ferris Bueller's college girlfriend is a mob boss?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 88: What's in your stash?

Latuff's is not good pizza. Sorry, it's just not.

And as for the complaint on thin crust, when you order Broadway pizza, thin crust is the ONLY way to go. It's so *ing good.
