Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 87: As All Hallow's Eve Approches.....

Hi there Lodge folk. I thought this week: I don't have that much to do all day. Wouldn't it be funny if I tried to catch Ralph? Like, beat him to 100K? People would be into it . . . it'd be fun . . . make a mark for myself in the Lodge . . . etc etc. Then I did the math. It's like 4,125 posts an hour to get there before he probably will. :o  Shoulda thought of this in '08.

Prepping for life with a teenager :)

I have two....you're on the right track. :)

Speaking of teenagers, little surreal at the 'ole nest as one teen is trying to decide on a high school and the other one is beginning to search for colleges. Meanwhile I'm looking at going back to school too......Mrs. Eagle is a patient woman. :)

For those of you keeping score at home regarding little g.

He routinely walks about 10 - 20 feet at a time now. He still has a long ways to go but I now envision him being able to run one day. (He is still working on his balance and he cannot get upright without some sort of assistance.) Looking back at the not so distant past I had doubts if he would ever be able to walk.

His speech is labored and if you are not around him much it can be difficut to understand. However, he has an impressive vocabulary and is now beginning to talk in sentences. He can count to twenty and almost knows all of his ABC's.

For Halloween he is going to be Buzz Lightyear and little gII is going to be Woody.

Miracles can happen! :)
Wooo! Go gs!! :)
Going in for 5th ultrasound to try to learn baby's gender. Don't expect the little stinker to cooperate today, either. Last try, methinks. I'm not pleased with his/her refusal to cooperate. Dick.
:D Hang in there, dad!

@les - I try to catch up whenever I'm away for awhile. As long as it's not a whole thread.

@GE - Wow, and I thought we had it bad: littlest bro - looking at/applying to colleges, sister - looking at/applying to grad schools and internships, me - applying to progs to make up requirements and looking at grad schools. :o

Vacation is awesome - wish I could be on one every day. Unfortunately, it's already Thursday and Monday morning in Boston looms near...

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 87: As All Hallow's Eve Approches.....

I think I'm getting scam/spam phone calls, which is really annoying. One is coming from Illinois and the other from the Milwaukee area. Google isn't helping me find out what person/company they are coming from. I never answer (I make a habit of not answering when I don't have the number programmed, or it's not a local call) and the only message I get is two seconds of silence. I figure if it was a real person or important that they would leave a message.

Either way, it's really annoying as it's happened five or six times in the past week.

Greyeagle,

You're going back to be a teacher huh? Wow. Time to settle down and step away from corporate life? Well, if you change your mind, we're hiring in various positions. Honestly, let me know.

Having grown up in PA and now with a sister at Penn State, I will say this about the school...it has one of the most powerful alumni bases I have ever seen. I know all about Michigan and their alumni everywhere, but when it comes down to it, I run into and talk to Penn State alums more often than Michigan alums (hell, when I was working for the ballet, one of the directors of choreography was getting the tech guys to update him on the Penn State score over the in-house headset). I will also say that it's reputation as a party school is most definitely deserved, so bear that in mind as well...There isn't much to do in central Pennsylvania and then, when it starts to snow...

You can't make more than 360 posts in an hour since there is a 10-second wait between posts. :D OTOH, I think that your 4,125 post calculation is wrong. That would get you to 100K in about a day. I won't do that.

Thanks! I am thinking about it threatened to do this many, many times.
I will shoot you an email this evening.

Yeah, that'll take you a day or two, tops. ;)

GE, Since I'm a big fan of winter weather I have no complaint with this early season storm blanketing Denver. As of now my neighborhood has about fifteen inches of snow and it's still snowing steadily, even if it isn't snowing hard. Forecast is calling for another 5-10 inches today before the storm finally heads out to the eastern plains of Colorado.

Getting to the Frozen Four doesn't equal champion? ;) :D
Um, no Rocky. Getting to the Frozen Four and then doing absolutely nothing once there is known as pulling a Hakstol. And by the way, I'll be doing some late night trick or treating in NoDak this Saturday. I have the perfect costume to scare the crap outta all NoDakians. It's a Nathan Gerbe mask.      Bwaahahahahaha!

It's always nice to hear stuff like this. ;)

Note to gmann: keep the Speedo's in the drawer! :p Let the kids enjoy the experience! ;)

@gmann - re: your rep: I guess I'll have to take your word for it! ;) (and thanks for the contribution)

at least you're not sending her to Blake. I'd probably punch you if you did. And I'm sure MNS would too. (I was a Minnehaha Academy grad).

Morning Lodge. Made it back to DIA just after midnight last night, when the snow really started to fall. It was one of those times where I was truly truly glad to be back on the ground.

Greyeagle,

Well, if you change your mind, we're hiring in various positions. Honestly, let me know.

So the company that makes masks for H1N1 is laying off and the company that makes checks is hiring????

Does Brent write that many checks?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 87: As All Hallow's Eve Approches.....

Accessible is very limited in Mariucci. It is primarily where SRO is at the concourse level. Hopefully they can accommodate you and little g. Don't wait for them. Call 1-800-UGOPHER for the UMN ticket office, or call the BSU office.

You are correct. Seating is limited. I can get two tix to each game. However, Mrs. g is contemplating attending. If she does I may just end up purchasing a SRO ticket or saying to hell with it and stay home.

FWIW I spoke to the person in charge of tix at the U. He mentioned that all accessible season ticket packages are buy one get one free for all U of MN sporting events. Pretty cool. I am going to have to call my people at BSU and get them to do the same............
