Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 87: As All Hallow's Eve Approches.....

Thanks les. I got a message from his wife... they're keeping him overnight and are going to do an MRI(?) in the morning. I can't figure out why an MRI if they're thinking stroke???

MRI is probably to look for any masses in the head. If they don't see that then sometimes they will do an MRA (this is a way to look at blood flow/aneurysms ~way simplified explanation). MRI is more specific than a CT scan.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 87: As All Hallow's Eve Approches.....

I'm a medical illiterate... I didn't think they did MRI's on the head. Isn't that what a CT Scan is for?

Like I said, I stoopedo! (not to be confused with gmann's Stars & Stripes speedo  )

according to les and rover, MRI's are capitalist tools to inflate the costs of health care. you should suggest they pass on this needless expense. :p :p :p :p

I had to look it up, I thought they were Army meals. :)

And I bet you stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night! :D

I thought I was the only one thinking this (and I couldn't understand why)

Glowing Mummy warning!!

HH tonight. Lil's team won again (in the higher tier). He scored a shorthanded goal after he was man in the O zone on the kill. Roofed it. Broke the tie- first ever game winning goal. My mouth hung open. This kid has never had hands. Ever. He has now scored more goals in the last few weeks than he has in his whole career (7 yrs). He has always been the grinder, never the shooter. The level of hockey is higher than what he had been playing (except for the azzhat team). I think there has been an alien abduction and they have replaced my kid.
Good to hear, les! :D Very exciting -- how long until he puts on a Riverhawks jersey?
My wife and I have been in Phoenix the last several days for events and functions surrounding her aunt's funeral. I have some news to pass along and since I haven't taken the time to read through the many pages of posts during my absence I apologize if what I am reporting is old news.

SiouxFanInSeattle underwent prostate surgery yesterday and I received a note from his daughter saying that the surgery went well, SFIS is doing well and that she'd send more news later in the week. I'll try to remember to post what I receive.
Excellent! Positive thoughts in his direction.
One of my cousin's sons was found dead yesterday at age 24. :( :( :(
:( I'm sorry to hear, Ralph.

Checking in from Orlando. :)

Huh. I didn't know he's a sailor
Well, they all call each other sailors, so I just naturally assumed. "Sssssssssay there, Sssssssssailor!"
I just volunteered to manage my kid's soccer team for next summer. Why do I do this to myself?
It's likely Masochistic behavior. You did get an engineering degree, after all.
..or a physcisist  :D
Whatever. I picked the easiest science there is because I don't expect much talent beyond that.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 87: As All Hallow's Eve Approches.....

Good evening, Lodge. Out of the 9.5 hours I worked today, 3 of them involved meetings.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 87: As All Hallow's Eve Approches.....

Evening, Lodge. I stopped some high school kid from thieving $122 worth of merchandise from Walmart tonight :)

I was covering for a greeter's break, and I was tipped off by another employee that there were kids shoving stuff in bags. He gave me a description of the kids and left. About a minute later a kid fitting the description comes to the doors to leave with two Walmart bags that were (IMO) overstuffed. I stopped him and asked for his receipt. After he checked all of his pockets and couldn't find it (I wonder why), I asked him if he remembered what register he checked out at. He mumbled "in the back" so I asked, "In electronics? Okay, come with me for a minute" with the intent of calling a CSM to the closest register. As soon as I turned around, he dropped the bags and left.

Anyway, I feel like I earned my pay tonight :)

You should have hammerpunched him before he got away!

Other than that, good job:)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 87: As All Hallow's Eve Approches.....

Been snowing lightly but steadily all day in my neighborhood. We have about half a foot thus far. Still snowing now and the current forecast is calling for snow through tomorrow night until about ten o'clock. An additional 10 to 15 inches is expected in my neighborhood--which is certainly not receiving the heaviest snowfall from this storm. In metro-Denver, the southern suburbs have gotten the most snowfall thus far. Highlands Ranch and that side of town has about 15 inches already with lots more on the way.

The mountains west of the Continental Divide may get as much as four feet by the time the storm dissipates tomorrow night. The Mankatos may have some fun flying into DIA tomorrow for the Friday/Saturday series against the Pioneers. ;)
