How is a thread about the WNBA still hanging around? I was tempted to go post in there saying how stupid a WNBA thread is, but I didn't want to put it at the top of the page.

It's been a tough week between a death in my wife's family and lots of work in my professional life. One more day and then we head to Phoenix for the rosary, funeral and burial. The circumstances for our travel are sad, but we are looking forward to be able to see some family members. The weather in and around Phoenix looks hot, dry and clear for the next several days so I'm hoping our travel goes smoothly. See you next week.

Quite a few, but not many in college hockey country :(

Indianapolis would be the closest I could get to home. Phoenix wouldn't be bad. San Diego would be gorgeous, but expensive (the government does do cost of living allowance though.) I could also possibly stay in Cheyenne, which wouldn't be the worst of situations (the lack of state income tax is a biggie for me...that's basically a free thousand dollars or so.)

Oh my Parise Alaska would be insane though. No state income tax, no state sales tax, $2K a year from the oil pipeline folks, etc. The only thing stopping me is that you really can't up and leave when you feel like it - you're pretty much stuck there. Oddly enough, Anchorage would be the largest city I've ever lived in in my life (270K population.)

...and when you're at the Golden Bee tomorrow, can you pick up a handful of drink stirrers? We're almost out, and it makes me feel high class to use BROADMORE drink stirrers.

Well, the day ended better than it began! Had my lemon drop. Served by hottie bartender. With a little extra. My friend that I normally go with brought one of her co-workers (who I had met before - she wasn't a party crasher). She brought a cake. It was kind of second hand (was her mom's bday too, she was supposed to go to the Four Seasons for lunch, the cake was pre-ordered so it was all paid for), but from the Four Seasons. It was very sweet of her. And went well with my lemon drop. :) Then another friend joined us and she brought cupcakes! I had an Oreo chocolate one.

Got home, my brother sent me a Kelly's Roast Beef gift card and a Pizzeria Regina gift, two places I frequent often. So all in all, a good evening.

Me, too, with NB Abbey in hand. My weekend has started. :D

And no one got canned today/yet (TRP for details, posted yesterday). So a big sigh of relief from everyone. For now.

Vodka and Sprite over here. I eyed up some of the New Glarus in the fridge, but that's not appropriate for my purposes tonight.

Well, I got worried and had to check and make sure you were in the word assoc threads in the middle of the night there weren't ay listed then I really freaked- visions of you slumped over with no one knowing. ( I am such a bone head medical person)They were on the next page:o

A few months ago I was contemplating going to da UP for the Huskies vs Huskies games. And I'm sure Halloween at a Tech game would be fun...I know it was fun at Yost last year. I'm still considering going to the UP because Michigan is playing at Lake State.

I was tempted to make the boy take me to RIT 'cause I have not been to a game there, but he was just there a few weeks ago and is on a road trip this weekend too.

I might just be lazy and stay home and watch college football on tv and hand out candy to kids (unlike CHA, I will not keep the candy in my pocket). The novelty of having a house and trick-or-treaters is kindda cool.

Any recommendations?
