Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 84: Steal This.

(Big picture - my fil and mil think bil is a saint and about as perfect as perfect can get. fil and mil have been supporting bil in numerous ways which have enabled bil to get into the mess he his currently in. Mrs. g and myself have confronted all parties with solid facts contradicting/calling out all parties only to have bil lie and come out looking better than before therefore making me and Mrs. g look like the bad guys.)

The meeting is over. I won't go into specific details but as unfortunate/disappointing as this situation is I definitely got my point across with tact and taking the high road. bil confessed to every issue that mil/fil refuse to ackowledge or have covered up. Furthermore, I ended the conversation by asking my mil/fil if they had anything to comment on as I had them on speakerphone without bil knowing they were on and without mil/fil knowing what bil had done. Wham! Don't f with g.

This is even better than knocking him the eff out.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 84: Steal This.

IMHO there is really nothing more that can be done. You can lead a horse to water but you cannot make it drink (unless your name is monster ;) ) Nobody is going to win in this situation but maybe just maybe the people who need help the most can now get it.
I think monster is proof you can't make a horse drink...otherwise they'll beat you up...:D

This is even better than knocking him the eff out.
That's gotta be a close second though...:p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 84: Steal This.

I have my reasons for wanting to meet with him as early as possible. Let's just say it was icing on the cake. ;)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 84: Steal This.

I also apologize to those of you who could care less about this situation. In a wierd kind of way by posting here it is my way of releasing some stress on the matter. :o

yeah, you boring mofo. Like I want to hear about all your family problems. :p

Actually, I'm quite entertained by the antics of your MIL. I really think she needs to jump in a lake. Or be tossed in one.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 84: Steal This.

Paging WTW:

My friend got our tickets for the games in Alaska. UM didn't get public tickets for the games, only player tickets (despite my friend having been told by the ticket office over the summer they would have tickets).
Anyway, he went through ticketmaster.
Our seats are going to be section 116L row 9. Feel free to join our mini-UM section if possible.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 84: Steal This.

gmann you are the man.

When I start a revenge business, I'm bringing you on board for tactical support.

This is seriously iced!! did MIL or FIL say anything?

Note to self: do not mess with gmann.
Yah baby!

Not to worry. We've all used the lodge and the board as a place to get things off our chest, ask for advice and offer encouragement. Last year when my mom was sick and ultimately passed, this group was very cathartic and it seriously made a difference.
I'm glad you have (hopefully) found a good breaking off point for the madness you've been dealing with. Hold your head up. Your setting a good example for your boys at this pace.
I agree with Gonzo and everyone else- the folks in here are a great support. I sometimes seriously have no idea how I would do without. Face to face friends are one thing but people here are around no matter what time of day or night. Even if no one posts back it is cathartic to just get it out.

And speaking of support and cartharsis~for those keeping score L'il has first practice with new team tonight. Calls have been made and awaiting the response regarding the whole thing from the weekend. I would like blood but doubtful actual blood will be spilled. Is it unChristian to hope someone lays out those a55wipe kids?

I don't think that's unchristian. Eye for an eye, all that. Isn't there a line in the bible about "woe unto thee who ****eth off a hockey mom?" They've got it coming.

I keep missing things. When and where did L'il find a new team?

Yeah but that makes me think of :shudder: Sarah of the bulldogs and lipstick. :shudder:

Well, maybe not an eye for an eye...I would love to find some way to inform half the hockey world names and dates and publicly shame em (the coaches) No eyes then they can't see the scorn....Now ripping off their overly developed, testosterone producing gonads, s l o w l y, with a few loops of rusty barbed wire dipped in a bit of MRSA as the others waited for their turn.....that would work for starters.

Yesterday. He is going back to the team from a few yrs ago. The Snot family left in a huff because their kid wasn't getting enough playing time. Of course there are still a few interesting things there. One should never be bored. Saw one of the Dad's almost get arrested for trying to pick a fight while cocked outta his mind last yr. While we were waiting for L'il's game we saw him randomly go off on some poor guy who promptly whipped out his cell and dialed 911. I will be spending a lot of time down by the glass in a corner with my camera- away from all the mess and monkeys.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 84: Steal This.

Nope, only if you pay someone to lay them out.

And even then, only if you're not doing business while in church. :D

gmann: Hopefully this will be the end of problems for you and the PILs... and remind me not to fark with you either

les: Best of luck to L'il on the new/old team!

Afternoon, Lodge. Had work this morning, an interview this afternoon (one of 10 interviewees of 165 applicants ... 4 open positions, so you do the math ;)) and now I'm sitting in the library doing homework. By which, I mean posting on USCHO. :o

Hey, I was going to ask you a couple days ago since you're kind of a history buff like I am, and probably know more than I do. I have a cardboard box full of land deeds, receipts, returned checks, letters from europe, and a whole bunch of other miscellaneous stuff from about 1875 to 1930, all belonging to one family. Do you think any of this stuff has historical significance? Is it valuable? The guy I got it from (the one we're helping get ready for an auction) was just going to burn it, and I thought there might be some historical significance, so I asked if I could keep it and look through the papers.
